Should I buy it?
Ask your Facebook friends and Twitter followers if you should buy the Apple TV

Comment: What is the point of yet another set top box when a decent DLNA enabled Blu-Ray Player can do all of this as well as access BBC iPlayer, Lovefilm etc. Once again the blinkered opinion of Apple Fanboys refuse to accept that their products are stunted by Apple reluctance to utilise universal technologies and preferring to re-invent the wheel. Apple TV circa £100, Samsung BDD5500 circa £100 does everything Apple TV does as well as play those funny round things I think they used to call them discs...... And yes it will also work with an Apple PC just search for DLNA software for Mac there is loads of it.
Rant over...... feel much better :)

Good: Ease of use
Bad: iphone mirroring has a lag so can't really be used with arcade style games
Comment: This is a "nice to have" product, I've used it mainly to stream movies from the usual subscriber services e.g. Netfilx/Lovefilm. However this can be done from a few other devices i.e the wii.
If you frequenlty use the video on your iphone the Apple TV is a good way of playing your movies directly to the TV.
I'm not inspired by this product, its just ok. It streams wel,l has a good interface, but to be a good product iphone mrroring needs to work effectively as does the iphone remote which tends to freeze periodically.
