Good: The picture quality
Comment: I' ve got this tv from a local Athens Dealer (Dixons) at a good price 550 euros (Sep 2013). I am impressed by the picture quality, the blackness reality and the image correction that does to sd channels and some terrible broadcasts.
I connect the ipad and play youtube videos on the tv and this makes kids happy. I use the predefined Sony's settings for the picture but I changed the audio sefttings to add more bass and sound depth. I always have the option to connect to the hi-fi.
I certainly would recommend the TV to a friend if he's not too demanding with smart tv facilities (eg no keyboard, no mouse connection and in order to record, a dedicated usb hdd or memory stick greater than 32 Gb is needed). The negatives are minor to me and I would not change this tv even if I found more little problems.
Good: Excellentg piccture quality, SD and especially HD, deep blacks, great colour once properly calibrated.
Bad: Only two HDMI inputs, which is very stingy! External power supply a slight annoyance.
Comment: Overall, especially for its low price, this is an excellent TV. The settings menu allows many fine and useful tunings, suppresses any noise without compromising sharpness, and gives outstanding picture quality for HD, either from the tuner or (in my case) Virgin cable. Sound for a slim flatscreen is good for most broadcasts (mostly speech). Viewing angle is quite good off centre, perhaps, being a VA panel, not quite as good as Panasonic's IPS panels. AS CNET review says, the inputs etc. could be better placed on the back, and the worst thing of all is only two HDMI inputs, amazing in a new TV with so many excellent features, and in my case needing a switcher to give more inputs. The blacks however, night scenes etc. give great depth and impact, while the colour is also excellent, Sony's X-Reality processing really showing its quality. But, Sony, please next time more HDM inputs!
