Comment: Just wanted to comment on the review by joneyman.
"Chap said unless you got Blu Ray, Sky with all its HD channels, games etc., may not be the best choice for you" - I think this guy may have been taking the p*ss out of you.
Why would you go out and buy a top of the range TV and only put standard definition through it. Not only that you have both free to air HD digital services in the UK (whcih are surely an imporivement on satndard def). It would be like buying a ferrari only to have it parked up in the drive.
So yes if the digital switch over hasn't occurred in your area, you don't own a Blu ray player, you don't play games and have no interest in watching HD content and currently own a non HDTV, i would advise stick with it.
However if you are interested in any of the above, couldn't recommend this TV enough, makes all sources look amazing.
There is plenty of information out there on forum websites for tweaking the picture settings etc.
VT30 also worth a look, just didn't have the same Wow factor as the new samsung models for me.
Good: Everything at first site
Comment: We were going to pop over to John Lewis (hard to beat with 5 yr free warranty) this evening and order this TV, on the understanding that they would show 'ordinary' programmes rather than the fantastic Samsung demo. As it happens we dropped in on our local Currys and they had Wimbledon on. Must say it was pretty unimpressive. Our old 35 inch Sony CRT monster much better quality. Assistants couldn't tweak it to improve much either. Chap said unless you got Blue Ray, Sky with all its HD channels, games etc., may not be the best choice for you if you just want the free HD stuff. If we had bought it we would be moaning like hell about the poor quality.
Just a word of warning if you're a bit behind the times like me. Just need a bit more convincing when ALL the free HD stuff is available and we can see it demonstrated.

Comment: This TV blows everything out the water, stunning picture straight out the box but with a few tweaks(LIKE TURNING OFF JUDDER) and then you try Blu Ray,then you pick your jaw off the floor
