Good: It is great for high definition and 3D experience

Comment: This 46C8000 3D HD Led Tv is amazing. I would recommend it to anyone who wants one. I would also take out the insurance on it too as if anything happens to it then they are absolutely fast and reliable in fixing any problems. Its great for all the apps like skype, facebook, twitter, allshare etc. Its great for utube, videos, pictures. Absolutely everything u could want at a great price.
Comment: Design Perfetc, TV Good, 3D with movies in 3D very good, the rest terrible, internet very hard to navigate, great advertisiment from skype and it dont have a simple microfone, you must have to buy the expensive camera. The all share don't work with mac, that is terrible, I tryed some software but they are slow and navigation is unfriendly, you must have an HDD for timeshift, it dosen't work with normal HD, and the timeshift sould be called timedelay, because you can't schedule what you want to record. Converstion 2D->3D, dont waste you time.
Good: Seems pretty good but 3D isnt developed enough yet
Bad: I hope the clouding isnt as bad as the last Samsung I owned (for two days) and sent back
Comment: I thought this set was back lit with leds and local dimming? In the review you say it is edge lit...which is correct?

Good: The design & functionality is superb.
Comment: When I ordered this TV about 6 weeks ago, I was expecting SD transmissions on a screen size of 55" to be a little poor, but this is definately NOT the case!! SD pictures are very good on all but a few channels, & the HD & Blu-Ray pictures are absolutely stunning. Internet@TV is a good app especially now that BBC iplayer is available. As for the 3D mode, I have tried Super Stardust HD 3D on the PS3 & that was unbelievable, the gameplay had real depth to the screen, but as for viewing movies as yet I haven't seen any, so I cannot comment. One very useful option on this TV is the ability to plug in a USB stick or HDD & use it as a PVR to record, pause & rewind live TV, it works great (but only on Freeview transmissions, not Sky). Previous LED models from Samsung have suffered from backlight uniformity issues & clouding especially on dark scenes in movies, & while occassionally if you look hard enough you can see a slightly lighter area in the corners of the screen in some dark scenes, this does not affect the pleasurable viewing experience of this TV. I have one problem with my TV at the moment though, it is very minor & cosmetic, but it is still a problem, next to the top right hand wall mounting point on the back of the TV, the screw that holds the back panel flush to the mounting point has been cross threaded & sticks out from the back panel by 1/4 inch, & will not screw in or out, however as I purchased the TV from John Lewis it is not a problem, they have offered to replace the TV with a new one, absolutely excellent customer service, i was expecting to be offered an engineer visit.
In summary, I very nearly purchased the 46" version as I thought that the 55" would be to big for a standard size lounge, but we decided to take the plunge & get the 55", & I am so glad we did, as it looks stunning & performs brilliantly. All in all an excellent TV!!

Comment: I have the most weird relationship with Samsung TVs. I love their design, but I hate the stuff inside. Strongly influenced by the highly favourable reviews I got a 40B7000. It just remained one afternoon at my home. It was the worst SD picture I'd ever seen. I took it back to the store and reswitched on my impeccable 4-year old Sony lcd. I can't hep feeling attracted to Samsung design, but I won't fall in temptation again.

Comment: Right. The good news first. The picture quality is amazing; the HD and 3D are beyond belief - this is our forst HD TV and we are converts.
We are the first people in Jersey to own this TV, and here starteth the problem. When it doesnt work, nobody knows what to do.
Aside from the 3D, the internet@TV function was another reason to buy it: you could get apps on your TV; like weather; news; lovefilm; BBC iPlayer; 4oD etc. etc. - well, if I could access it I could.
The settings are all okay, there are no IP conflicts; the TV is telling me that it is connected to the internet; the firmware is up to date - basically, everything is as it should be - but alas, still no internet@TV.
Samsun customer support is nothing hort of woeful - they don't how to fix this problem. What's more, if you dare call them before their closing time of 6PM, the phone WILL cut off - mid-sentence - at 6PM; that's your lot.
I'm sure it will be a great TV when I can figure out how to use all of its functions. Samsung need to understand their products better. Oh, and by the way, the media share manager is frustratingly difficult to set-up - don't do it right and you get a box appearing every 5 mins on your TV telling you as much!
Finally, make sure you buy a good surround sound - the speakers otherise are a bit tinny due to how slim it is.
