Good: With built in Freeview and Freesat with stunning HD I ceased my pricey Sky subs
Bad: It is like a dust magnet and generates a lot of heat
Comment: The Panasonic Viera TH-46PZ81 plasma is a magnificent piece of modern technology with the built in Freeview and Freesat. The picture quality of the HD channels is stunning. When watching fast moving sports eg Football & Tennis it is better to switch off the intelligent frame creation. I found the viewing mode and colour set at normal the best. The sound through the normal TV speakers are ok but i added both a Viera blu ray player and theatre system. I could never go back to watching anything less now. The colours are good but the reds are bit "orangey" otherwise no problems. I bought a CAM with viewing card for watching sport on ESPN and that is the only weak spot as the picture is not as good as it could be. Watching Band of Brothers on blu ray through the theatre system is jaw dropping, you feel totally immersed in the action and the sound and visuals are superb. One word of warning, do not try to set this up on your own as it is quite a weight.Changing from Fresat to Freeview and vice versa is very simple and a handy addition, as although they carry a lot of the same channels at present, only Freesat have HD content and Freeview have Sky sports news and Sky news. Overall i am very pleased with my purchase which included a free 5 year warranty on the set which gives piece of mind.
