Good: Large disk capacity, digital tuner, improved panel layout over me E80H, plays DivX
Bad: SD tuner ok but not brilliant
Comment: This is the latest in a a number of Panasonic products I have had over the years, and they have all been extremely reliable (no faults at all). This one has cleaner lines and is easier to use from the front panel than the E80H it replaces, but the changes in layout of the controls on the remote take a little getting to. My kids love the ability to play Div X files. I wanted more disk space and an SD tuner, otherwise I would have kept my E80H, but it has now been relegated to the 2nd TV.

Good: Very good picture and sound, upscaling is very sharp.
Bad: Does not support 1080p.
Comment: I believe this is the best HDD/DVD recorder on the market at the moment. I am always on the lookout for the best and this device is brilliant. Go for it!

Good: Recording and hard drive
Bad: Second Panasonic to have DVD drive malfunction, Currys had my first recorder a EH50 for repair six weeks before having it back, on checking it out, they still have not repaired it, it is now back with them, thinking of sending a Christmas Card, now my EX85 has the same problem. Work it out for yourself what I think.
Comment: Build yourself a PVR, this it what I am going to do, just waiting for Microsoft's new OS.
DVD recording devices for computers are built to a higher standard.
