Good: being able to record 2 channels and watch 3rd (depending on channel)
Bad: has become almost unuseable with age
Comment: Worked like a dream when new, but over last year the unit freezes and will not allow any changes to channel selection, preset recordings don't always take place, or unit keeps recording on one channel all night long. When unit is working the time to change channels gets longer as time goes by. Humax know of problem, but first software change did work. They are trialling new software with some customers but does not look like a fix is coming anytime soon.

Good: Picture quality,reliability.
Bad: Remote could be laid-out better & is a bit big.
Comment: Fairly easy to operate after initial learning curve.Edit function is good where you can select a portion of a recording to keep & then delete the rest of the recording thus saving hard disc space.

Good: Great feature-rich product
Bad: Software reliability
Comment: I've had this machine for about 6 months now and it's an excellent machine. Plugged into my sound system, it also doubles up as my radio tuner. The only major complaint is that it has been known to freeze up so if that happens when you are away for a few days, your programs don't get recorded. That having been said, mine has not done it for a few weeks now. Still worth it for the price though - one of my better buys.

Good: Ease of use, looks good, skip button
Bad: Programme guide doesn't cache
Comment: An excellent bit of kit that has transformed my TV watching habits. I now rarely watch anything live as it's being broadcasted, and instead play back things I've recorded on this. So I always have something I want to watch when I have time, and I can skip the adverts quickly and easily.
A recent software update added another vital feature - setting an amount of time to add to the end of a programme time, so that you don't miss the last minute or two of the programme if they are running late.
The only minor gripe is that the electronic programme guide can take a few minutes to receive, and it doesn't get cached. So if you turn the box off and then on again you have to wait for it to download again. No major problem, but seems like an easy thing to fix.

Good: Clear playback and the way you actually set the unit to record, it's so very easy and equally easy to cancel should you change your mind
Bad: Just one very minor critiscism - it's so easy to set it to record a programme and the unit allows you se and set programs days in advance, you will
Comment: I researched the Humax PVR-9200T well before buying one. Ignore the guff that a few people have said about it.
Buy one and you will be amazed, it will change the way you use your TV forever. Since you will no doubt catch every programme you want to record, you will sit down to the actual recordings and the only live TV you will then see will be when actually choosing the next programmes for recording from the Humax's superb programme guide (which shows programmes a week in advance).
It's quiet, it's well designed and mine certainly doesn't freeze (never has, even in an average signal strength area).
One reviewer moaned about slow startup time (about 10 seconds), but clearly this user has completely forgot how life was before they actually bought theirs and if you took theirs away now they would moan then!
I like the fact that when one has recorded a programme and its then been listed in the "recorded" list, the programme information is also stored with the recording and so say you recorded a film a month ago, you can still see what the film is about before watching it - very handy for recording soaps - just superb.
It does exactly what it says on the tin and I feel the comments about its childish remote or its menus, stem from the feeling you get when using it, that it is so very easy to use that it feels like any child could use it - trust me and get one.
Another reviewer said it's the best electrical thing he or she ever bought, I second that.

Good: Ease of use
Bad: Remote control is tacky and cheap
Comment: We bought a Humas PVR 9200T unit to enhance our viewing pleasure with a recently bought 37" Dell TV. Great we thought, can't wait to get both hitched up. That's where the problem started, as soon as we connected the Humax to the Dell TV... we couldn't record two programmes simultaneously, one was with sound, one without! We returned the unit and changed it for another one thinking it was faulty, but no, we still had the same problem. We returned the Humax box really disappointed. Then, we found we had a problem with the Dell TV. It was exchanged immediately, but then another problem cropped up. We returned the Dell TV, not an easy job. We decided to buy a Samsung 32" LCD TV and another Humax box hoping these would be compatible... and guess what, it's just great! We love the TV and most of all we love the Humax HDD unit. Does everything it says on the box. Just hate the cheap remote control. Come on Humax, bring out a nice compact hand-friendly remote, they'll go down a storm!

Good: Great recording quality, quick fast-forward and rewind - 64x!
Bad: Picture can sometimes freeze, even with very strong signal
Comment: Overall this is a great unit, and my reason for only rating it 6 is due to its reliability problems.
I have had 2 of these boxes, after the first one repeatedly froze during viewing live broadcasts or recording broadcasts, at least once a day. The fault was not a signal problem, just hardware or firmware.
My second box is better but still likes to freeze up every now and then. Humax say they are aware of the fault, and will be releasing a firmware upgrade.

Good: Ease of use; "just works"; good picture quality
Bad: No automatic padding before/after recording; time taken to refresh EPG; moving recording to PC slow and prone to errors
Comment: Excellent functionality for the money. This is something that is really easy to use by the whole family and will probably change the way you watch TV

Good: The big hard disk, picture quality and tuner sensitivity
Bad: The menu system
Comment: The menu system on the Thomson DHD4000 was better. The first unit I bought would not menu properly at all (menu incomplete). I exchanged it on the same day (17/03) and this one worked, but 2-3 times per day the Duovision freezes and locks up. All you can do is turn it off, leave it for a minute then turn it back on. I contacted Humax who tell me this is a "known problem" for which a software fix will be issued. If it is not issued "soon" it is going back and I will buy something else.
