Good: Nearly everything
Bad: I am having trouble taking off the tv voice over
Comment: Somebody please tell me how to take the ''voice over'' off with the remote, it's doing my head in lol
Comment: I have recently purchsed the HDR-FOX T2 - however - it does not do what it says in the box - no Iplayer / no Sky player - without Firmware update - this however is also a pain in itself as no clear instrcutions as to how to do this ............. Uto software says software up to date...... any ideas.....
Good: Gives good picture and sound
Bad: Hard drive freezes ,miss records programes
Comment: Had a few hard drive issues emailed customer service 1 month ago still no reply sending unit back for replacement,if it plays up again with buy alternative product, can't expect loyalty if you don't offer good customer service
Good: Easy set up, easy recording
Bad: Folder for series recordings stay visible even when programs are deleted
Comment: It's very easy to set up, easy to exclude channels (e.g. shopping channels and pay channels), recordings from the TV guide are quick and easy and I like it that it suggests other programmes you might enjoy (e.g. set it for Holby and it suggests Casualty)
Good: most of it
Bad: price is to high i wiil wait for it to drop
Comment: ticks most of the boxes
Good: Looked very promising from reviews
Comment: When playing audio or radio a screensaver appears after a few minutes and hops about annoyingly all over the screen. I rang up to ask how to stop this and was told I can't. That's a deal-breaker for me, I couldn't stand having the screen doing that all day. So alas, it will have to go back to the shop.
Good: Fine for freeview
Bad: No SkyPlayer.
Comment: It's advertised with SkyPlayer on board - even written on the packaging (from October 2010).
It's the 10thJan 2010 and THERE IS NO SKYPLAYER ON THIS DEVICE!
There is no confirmed date for Launch, there is NOTHING mentioning this on their sites and there is no helpful staff member willing to give a date or assurance that this will be delivered - just a very sketchy "maybe this month, maybe not response".
Awful customer service and mis-advertising a product that does deliver all the features it promises. Rubbish.
Good: Works well.
Bad: Manual sparse and unhelpful. Support hasn't answered questions after 3 months.
Comment: 1. The remote has a "V-format" button which changes the resolution output. The manual gives no explanation of how to use this or what settings are best.
2. I want to back up favourite TV and radio programmes to an external hard disk in case the disk in the Humax fails. I had an old SD Humax PVR which did this (though not very well - the software was clunky and often failed). The new one has both networking and 2 USB sockets. So I assumed that backing up would be possible. I have successfully connected to my network and to an external hard disk but have failed to back up. Again the manual says very little but implies the connection facilites are there to import media into the Humax, not vice versa.
3. My old Humax allowed you to toggle between the list of recorded radio and TV programmes. The new one does not. This makes for a longer list and so it is harder to find things.
I emailed Humax support in October 2010 about all this but despite reminders and a promise I've had no reply. Makes me wonder about the support available if I have a real problem.
Good: Neat, simple to use and does what it says.
Bad: Freezes during keyword search and I see this is a reported problem elsewhere.
Comment: Possibly due to transmitter rather than PVR. Software fix may solve but there's not one available to me right now and it's brand new.
Bad: HDMI handshaking Issue
Comment: HDMI Problem.
HDR-FOXT2-1TB connected to a Panasonic Viera Full HD LED TV.
Connection is via the HDMI 1 on the TV.
The Humax is set to auto switch on at 0700 and off at 23.00.
The TV is set to start on AV (not TV)
On some occasions (but not always) there is no picture or sound via HDMI when switching on the TV during these times.
The only solution is to power off the Humax and the start up routine seems to initiate the HDMI connection.
Sometimes just putting the Humax into Standby works sometimes it does not.
If recording it cant be switched off of course .
Connection via a scart works all the time but obviously I want to connect via HDMI only.
I have downloaded the 16 Sept 2010 Humax HDR-FOX T2 update FHTCP-1.01.05
Pressing the vformat button on the remote control 5 times works sometimes but it is an annoying problem.
