Good: Quick, great quality picture
Bad: Nothing really
Comment: I have two freesat receivers, the Echostar's Slingloaded number and this one. The quality of the Humax box is definitely superior although the Echostar is very good as well. It's easy to see why Humax is the class leader simply from the refined look and feel of the whole thing.

Bad: Nothing really, just like more HD content.

Good: Easy set-up, BBC iPlayer integration is easy to use
Bad: Remote is cheap
Comment: The Humax Foxsat HD is simply, to me, a "what is says on the tin" job. Its great, I found it very user friendly, I mean sure the manual is a bit... lacking in friendliness but its easy to get your head round.
Upon using the Humax set-up with out any issues and went straight into watching television, tried HD and worked fine. Although, I soon realised, when changing channel between HD and SD, if you dont let the SD buffer the Humax will go into exact scan mode and half your screen will be green, and you simply have to restart the box all together.
Just recently integration iPlayer has been put on this particular model, I connected it up and worked very well (Incredibly similar to the PS3 iPlayer so quite impressed there).
Over all, a very easy, very simple and affordable box.

Good: The idea that it is easy to understand the user manual
Bad: The almost umcomprehensible use manual
Comment: When I can make things happen, fine, but a user friendly manual with straighforward commands would make it a fantastic product - THE MANUAL IS ABSOLUTELY GOBBLEDEGOOK!

Good: Easy to set up and use
Bad: Remote could be better
Comment: Been using my Humax FoxSat-HDR for a week now and very impressed. The box is easy to use and the picture qualiry excellent. My only quibble is that lip sync is not always perfect. Much prefer the box to the SkyHD one

Good: It has enabled me to receive quality TV pictures without SKY
Bad: Not a great deal. Manual could be a little more user friendly.
Comment: I live in a rural area where I am only able to get TV reception via a satellite dish. The new Humax Freesat set top box has enabled me to get quality pictures without having to pay the high prices commercial enterprises charge.
I am absolutely delighted with this product which has improved on the standard of pictures I have been paying through the nose for over the last 8 years.
My only slight difficulty with the set-up programme was linked to submitting my post code which ensures you get the correct local channels. This was easily overcome with friendly advice from the Freesat helpline.
Apart from the excellent pictures, the sound quality is really good too. The remote is intuitive and everything about Freesat I find delightful.
An excellent investment.

Good: HD; available to buy!
Bad: Franglish on screen
Comment: EXACTLY how do I "Reserve" a program (Franglish! just like my daughters Humax PVR for FreeView) so that I can record the output from the Scart?
The clock in Standby mode keeps changing to GMT instead of BST and it has only once (in three tries so far) actually powered up - but no output. I know I am on correct Scart channel 'cus I have manually recorded from AV2 socket on my DVD-RAM recorder.
Oh! how I miss my DigiFocus Twin Tuner PVR! - but no FreeView here in new house.
