The 22-inch, HD Ready Bravia KDL-22E5300 LCD TV blew our socks off so far that we still haven't found them. Its design is striking, its feature set is ambitious, and, most importantly, its picture quality is superb for such a small TV. This set's expensive, but, if you can afford it, you should buy it

With a built-in iPod dock and DVD player, the 19-inch, HD Ready C1973FIP LCD TV will appeal to those who are either short on space or just hate clutter. You can't expect top-notch picture quality from a machine of this type at this price, but it offers decent performance and convenience in a cute design

Although extremely butch TV fans may be deterred by the 22-inch 22LU5000 LCD TV's flamboyant design, many others will find it appealing. Whether or not a 1080p resolution is necessary on a screen of this size is debatable, but you can't question this set's great picture quality and features

The 19-inch, HD Ready Regza 19AV505DB is a remarkably cheap and thoroughly decent LCD TV, with an attractive design. The set isn't bursting with features and its audio leaves something to be desired, but picture quality, while not perfect, exceeded our expectations by far, given the set's cost

The 19-inch Sharp LC-19D1E LCD TV is beautifully styled, remarkably cheap and boasts the best pictures we've seen at the sub-£250 end of the TV market. HD Ready and with a feature set not far removed from those of Sharp's big-screen models, this is a near perfect second-room TV

Humax LGB-22DYT

Small LCD TVs don't have to sound awful. The LGB-22DYT, Humax's 22-inch offering, is out to buck the weedy-sounding trend, with a separate 'speaker bar' running the show instead of puny bezel speakers. It also crams in plenty of pixels, making for an HD Ready experience

This 19-inch LCD TV has some really handy features that would make it a perfect second set for a bedroom, games room or study. You can record Freeview programmes to an external USB drive, and it has a plethora of inputs for your consoles. Price might be a sticking point, but you get a lot for your money

This 17-inch widescreen display has a built-in TV tuner, and a clear and bright screen. The MFM-HT75W performs best as a monitor, but it also makes a decent TV. As a combination unit, it's one of the best we've ever seen
