Typical price: £1,100
What is it: HD Ready plasma TV with 42-inch screen and integrated digital tuner
What we think: Not one of the top plasmas available, but certainly one of the best for this price

"An absolute bargain at £800 odd quid"
What I like:
Colour is very vivid, detail is good, menu is easy, looks very nice
What I don't like:
Some slight picture distortion on quick frame changes in standard definition, remote is very plastic
Review:
I've had this about a week but haven't got Sky HD yet. If you are looking for 42" on a sub £1k budget I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this. You can get more if you can pay more, so I'd look elsewhere if you can afford over £1-1.5k.

freesat iPlayer beta service imminent
It's not much of a secret that iPlayer was going to turn up on freesat at some point. The good news is, we now know there will be a beta program run at the end of November
