What is it: Plasma TV with AV connectivity
What we think: Although this is intended as a budget plasma, it has too many flaws to make it a good-value purchase

| Review summary | Sony isn't a prolific plasma manufacturer, and it shows on the KE-P42M1. It's clearly aimed at the budget market, so it lacks many notable features and has a low panel resolution. Wega Engine technology saves the day on performance, making analogue sources very acceptable, but for anyone who's even remotely interested in high definition, this would make a very poor investment Read full review |
This is the ultimate TV for home-cinema buffs. With its separate media receiver, this screen is perfect for wall-mounting or professional installs. The flexibility offered by the numerous inputs and DVB-T, DVB-S2 and DLNA mean it's got more functionality than its Kuro siblings too. It won't appeal to everyone, but it's one hell of a TV all the same Read full review |
If you've got the money, don't think twice -- this TV is as good as it gets and you won't regret buying one for even a second. The only problem is that it'll cost you another fortune in Blu-ray discs and HD TV subscriptions Read full review |
This TV is nothing short of stunning. DVD and Blu-ray look amazing, games will blow your mind and even Freeview looks passable, which is no mean feat on a screen this large. We're going to ignore the ludicrous price because if you simply must have the best, then money will be no object Read full review |
