Hi, I'm here to formally introduce you to the Toshiba 40XF355D, a 40-inch LCD TV which boasts a number of very cool features.
If you haven't already noticed, the most striking thing about this TV is its amazingly thin outer bezel, that's the bit around the LCD panel, Toshiba claim this is the worlds thinnest and tell is that it's just 23mm thick. But telling you the size doesn't really get across the visual impact of it.
To really make you understand how thin it is, we need to use a visual aid. And we've chose the most logical thing to do this. A Fruit Pastille. Here you'll notice that the bezel of the 40XF355 is about as thick as the impossible-not-to-chew sweet that is a favourite with children nationwide.
Fortunately, it isn't just the looks that make this TV special. It's a Full HD, 1080p TV with three HDMI sockets, built-in Freeview receiver and a sound system by Onkyo. It's worth mentioning the sound system, because with a case this thin, creating a convincing sound could be a problem. Fortunatly, this front firing speaker at the bottom of the screen makes dialogue nice and clear, and we won't pretend this TV generates thumping bass but if you want bigger low end sound there is always the opportunity to connect a subwoofer via the dedicated output.
This TV also supports the latest 24p picture mode, so movies should take on a less jerky look and provide a movie viewing experience that is closer to going to the cinema.
I'm Ian Morris, and this is my fruity friend, the Toshiba 40XF355D.
The Toshiba Regza 40XF355D looks amazing. The thin bezel gives it a much smaller profile than a standard LCD TV, which look positively lardy in comparison. The TV also offers excellent picture quality but might be too expensive when up against the other TVs in the range
