We like:
Attractive, opulent design; good connectivity; clear motion reproduction; plenty of picture flexibility; standard-definition pictures look quite sharp
We don't like:
Black levels aren't great; the set's viewing angle is limited; slight flickering at times from the scanning backlight system; occasional stutter during camera pans

The Toshiba Regza 42ZV635DB talks a mighty good talk, thanks to an impressive feature set for the price. Many of its features work very well, too, including the all-important 200Hz system. But, while it's quite cutting-edge on some levels, disappointingly, it also falls prey to a couple of familiar LCD shortcomings

If you want to be taken seriously as a TV manufacturer these days, it seems 100Hz processing isn't enough. Instead, 200Hz, 400Hz or even 600Hz processing is required. One of the few key brands missing from the high-Hz party so far has been Toshiba.
