Typical price: £750
What is it: 42-inch TV with full HD resolution at a low price
What we think: Although not perfect, it offers full-HD fans more features and quality than expected, given its low cost

We like:
Aggressively priced; retro design; exceptionally crisp HD pictures
We don't like:
Standard-def pictures aren't the best; limited black levels; no 100Hz
CNET UK judgement:
JVC's LT-42DR9BJ is a perfectly respectable, but not spectacular, performer. With Panasonic's superb Viera TH-42PX80 plasma TV now available for under £700, some of the wind has been taken out of the 42DR9BJ's sails, even though it, unlike the Panasonic set, offers full HD resolution

It's not much of a secret that iPlayer was going to turn up on freesat at some point. The good news is, we now know there will be a beta program run at the end of November
