We like:
Built-in DVD player is a great idea; price is right; pictures can look likeably natural
We don't like:
Pictures aren't particularly sharp, even with HD; black levels are a let-down; viewing angle is limited

Provided you see yourself still buying DVDs (as opposed to Blu-rays) for a year or two longer, the 32LG4000 has the potential to be an ideal second-room TV. One or two shortcomings with its picture performance prevent it being a prime contender as a main living room set, however
