What is it: 42-inch plasma TV with Freeview tuner
What we think: Truly outstanding 'Full HD' performer, but depending on your finances, you may prefer one of the cheaper models

We like:
Pictures rock; first 42-inch plasma TV we've seen with a 'Full HD' resolution; feature count is strong
We don't like:
Picture improvement over lower resolution Panasonic plasmas arguably not quite enough to justify price hike; not the prettiest TV
CNET.co.uk judgement:
Panasonic's first 'Full HD' 42-inch plasma TV, the Panasonic TH-42PZ70, is one of the top two or three 42-inch plasmas we've seen in performance terms. This will doubtless be enough in itself to win it many fans. But we should add that it's ultimately only marginally better than Panasonic's much cheaper 42-inch HD Ready models
