Manufacturers tell us that £1,000 is the magic number for people thinking about upgrading their living-room technology.

Although you could spend £1,000 on a TV alone, if you're prepared to get a smaller screen, you can get a lot more for your grand. We've put together the ideal package to enhance your viewing experience.

We've included a 32-inch television, which is easily big enough for most British living rooms. There's an upscaling Denon DVD player, which will help you get the best out of your DVD collection, and doesn't require you to buy your favourite films all over again on a next-generation disc format.

We've also suggested a Slingbox, so you can watch your favourite TV shows from anywhere in the world, via a PC, or even a mobile phone.
