Typical price: £5,300
What is it: A 45-inch LCD TV with integrated FreeView and high-def compatibility
What we think: This high-end, high-resolution LCD does many things well, but its performance just can't compete with lower-priced plasmas

We like:
Full 1080p native resolution; attractive styling; comprehensive connectivity; excellent feature package
We don't like:
Expensive; inconsistent colour; cannot fully resolve 1,920x1,080 high-def signals
You might also need:
Antenna; DVD player; home-theater audio system
CNET UK judgement:
If you must have a large-screen LCD, this one's a decent choice, although plasma does offer better value
