Why I must quit CNET: My Russell Brand sex shame
It is with 'eavy 'eart that I must announce my resignation from CNET UK. My time at the UK's largest consumer technology Web site has been challenging and enjoyable, yet I feel my position is no longer tenable after recent revelations that I have never had sex with Russell Brand. Boxwish: Celluloid style
More harping on about products in movies. This week I returned to Boxwish, a site with a great premise: you look up a film, and it tells you where you can buy the stuff seen in the film. If you spot something for sale that can also be spotted in the film, these 'spots' are linked from the site. You can also add merchandising such as books, toys and branded clothing. I'll shoot the camera next time: James Bond and the eBay affair
If the product placement crowbarred into Casino Royale wasn't jarring enough, just wait for Quantum of Solace. While the second trailer has this Bond fan salivating, I'm not enjoying the advertising campaign gearing up to plaster Daniel Craig's meat-pie mug across adverts for watches, cars and washing powders. Apparently James Bond's favourite airline is Virgin Atlantic -- remember Richard Branson's smug cameo in Casino Royale? Click here for more

Large Hadron Collider generates weird particles, headlines
It's official: we're all in the grip of Large Hadron Collider fever. As forums buzz with apocalyptic hysteria and rational, reasoned -- ie, boring -- rebuttals, even Google has got in on the act with today's logo design. The LHC was turned on today and we're all still in one piece -- or at least we think we are... Click here for more

Jason Hawkes: Aerial photographer
My debonair colleague Alex Sassoon Coby -- of GameSpot UK fame -- has just introduced me to the work of Jason Hawkes. Hawkes' adventurous name suits his profession: if he wasn't an aerial photographer he'd have to be a deadshot spy or two-fisted jungle guide or something. But instead he takes amazing pictures of the world from on high. Click here for more

I'll sleep when I'm dead... or maybe on the bus
You'd think, with over 25 years -- yeah, yeah, and the rest -- of doing something every day, that I'd have figured out how to do it. Yet I still find myself regularly disturbed, drenched with sweat and unable to fathom this simplest of biological imperatives. I'm talking, of course, about sleeping. Click here for more

Three Colours Red: Scarlet, Epic and 3D for Red cameras and camcorders
Photo Red is back with characteristically grand claims for its new Scarlet, Epic and 3-D systems. We don't know when we'll see them, but we're excited by the modular concepts
Samsung NV40
Review Although there were some problems with purple fringing and image noise, the Samsung NV40's user interface is so good that we'd still recommend it. This 10.5-megapixel snapper's price is so close to the £100 mark that it'd be a crime not to consider it at least
Hands-on with the Ricoh R10: None more black
Photo The Ricoh R10 is the new black, a camera so swathed in jet shades it would depress Batman. Still, the 7x zoom, wide angle lens and giant screen would cheer anyone up
Crave predicts the future: Flip Mino goes HD
Crave Just as we predicted last month, after an interview with Flip Video's top man, the budget Flip Mino camcorder now comes in high-definition flavour
Canon PowerShot G10
Review Still the Godfather of compact cameras, the Canon G10 is a worthy successor to the G9. A wideangle lens, accessible controls and a list of features as long as your arm put dSLR power in your pocket. The 14.7-megapixel snapper is chunky by anyone's standards but it packs in enough power to make it worth it
Photos: Hands-on the Casio Exilim EX-FH20
Photo The Casio Exilim EX-FH20 is tearing up the highways with a blistering 40fps burst mode, jaw-dropping 1000fps video and a 20x zoom. Zoom!

Hands-on with the Fujifilm FinePix J150w
Crave The Fujifilm FinePix J150w arrives at the end of a week of unbridled positivity, and unfortunately catches the backlash. We're just in a kicking kittens kind of mood
