HP has seemingly stuffed the Photosmart Premium C309g with every feature it could think of, while still delivering a well-rounded all-in-one inkjet printer. The touchscreen display is genuinely useful, its wireless-networking support is excellent, and it offers good all-round performance

Epson Stylus Photo PX710W

The multi-function, inkjet Epson Stylus Photo PX710W prints, copies, faxes and scans, looking nothing less than luscious all the time. Its output is generally superb, it's blisteringly fast and it's not particularly expensive either. You could do far, far worse than to buy this machine

Epson Stylus SX610FW

The Stylus SX610FW all-in-one printer with built-in fax and copier isn't the best choice for photo printouts, but its performance with text and business graphics is excellent, making it a solid option for those setting up a home office. Such users are also likely to be charmed by its Wi-Fi and Ethernet networking capability

The all-in-one Prospect Pro205 inkjet printer offers tonnes of features, including Wi-Fi connectivity, for a surprisingly low price. It's not the quickest printer we've seen, but its output is great, so you may not mind the wait. It's an attractive device too, with a compact, unobtrusive design

Brother MFC-5890CN

The MFC-5890CN all-in-one printer, scanner, fax and copier may well appeal to those who appreciate a retro design, and its large, 84mm, colour LCD screen is a definite bonus. Print quality could be better but its scanning, copying and fax features work well and it packs in a fair amount of features

The Photosmart C6380 all-in-one inkjet printer may well hit the sweet spot for many beginner photographers, combining ease of use with competitive performance and decent output quality. Its photo prints aren't the best we've ever seen but, for the price, it's a good package
