"A superb, sophisticated and dependable machine"
What I like:
Quality and speed of printing on all types of media
What I don't like:
Matte black and gloss optimizer cartridges are depleted gradually just from turning machine on & off (a cleaning cycle begins every time you switch on or off).
Review:
Excellent value for money. I have Epson's 1290 and Photo 2000P; the 1290 gave up the ghost after 5 years' heavy use. The 200P soldiers on (used professionally), but now seems incredibly slow after the R1800! The R1800's light-fastness would seem about as good as it gets, according to the Wilhelm Research Institute - even better than more expensive Epson models.
This judgement follows heavy use - 38 ink cartridges' worth. Only one minor nozzle blockage in all that use.
