Good: Pefrect companion for night shift workers
Bad: Apparently the battery life
Comment: This is a proper gaming device that is handheld, not a handheld device that also plays casual games so stop with the ipod comparisons already. The review is constantly pushing people to buy the iPod instead of this, choose this if you are a proper gamer.
I work night shifts and its not practical for me to be carrying a PS3 to work everyday so this is the perfect device for someone like me. This also means I can have the Vita plugged in all night if required so the lack of battery life doesnt concern me.
Being a PS+ subscriber you get many many games as part of a £30 - £40 annual subscription so its great value for money as long as you have this subscription (which works for both PS3 and Vita through one subscription)
I'd choose this over the ipod or 3DS everytime.

Good: excellent hardware, multiple control features and large screen.
Bad: limited number of top quality released games so far
Comment: The PS Vita is a huge step up from its predecessor the PSP, for instance it features dual analogue controls which makes many games easier to control, also the added feature of a front and rear touch sensitive surface increases the creativity of control methods.
The device itself fits comfortably in your hands, although due to the size of the it you would struggle to fit it in your pocket. The large screen is brilliant it is very bright and colorful and makes for a great experience when playing games as they can fit so much detail in.
The only downfall the the PS Vita does not come in the console itself, but the lack of top end games released for the device, There is a large library of games on the PS store but a large percentage is old PS1 and PSP games. Customers want something new, i believe Sony need to release more blockbuster games on this device for it to really take off.

Comment: Thanks for the review. I was thinking to buy either ps vita or nintendo 3ds and your review helped me a lot. Especially about the battery life of the consoles.

Good: Awesome games, Great graphics, Dual analogue sticks, Multitasking, Good apps
Comment: First of all I want to address the bad things listed by CNET
1.) battery life:
It is the same as other thing on the market e.g. 3DS, so I don't see how you can list that as a bad point when it is on par with other handhelds?
2.) Big and bulky:
I don't know how small their pockets must be because the vita fits in all my trouser/jean pockets?
3.) Console and games are expensive:
Some retail games at launch were over-priced but from the PSN Store you can buy at least ten great games (super stardust delta, escape plan, everybody's golf, etc.) all for under £10 each.
4.) No internal storage:
The memory cards are overpriced...if you don't shop around properly, I got a free 8GB memory card when buying my vita from amazon.
5.) Limited multi-tasking:
You can do up to six things at once! You will never need to do even that many things at once, putting that as bad point is just ridiculous!
If you want to play some amazing games (e.g. Uncharted not angry birds) that look beautiful on a 5-inch OLED screen, buy a vita.
If you want better and more precise physical buttons when playing handheld games, buy a vita
If you want to be in a party chat talking to all your mates while checking out your trophies and listening to music, buy a vita
Basically buy a vita! ( Sony should totally employ me! )
