Good: The size, neat and petite, ingenious USB port charger
Bad: The battery life
Comment: A good first player, for someone who just needs a simple MP3 player to listen to on the way to work etc, and who isn't bothered about a million gadgets or buttons.

Good: I can store whatever I need on it -- files, music etc -- and it goes straight into the computer
Bad: It doesn't come with an adaptor so you can't just shove it in a socket.
Comment: I think it is brilliant as it is small and light but I just wish it had an adaptor.

Good: Sound quality, convenience
Bad: Small screen and fonts
Comment: I used OGG Vorbis files with this device and found the sound quality to be pretty good. I have struggled on occasions to read the small fonts on the screen (but then I am in my mid-forties, perhaps it's time to visit an optician). Generally I found this to be an acceptable player. It's my first one, having previously used a portable MiniDisc.

Good: Fairly easy to use
Bad: To my ear, the sound quality is very mediocre even with different headphones. The included headphones are the worst I have ever had
Comment: Generally easy to use, but the sound quality is poor, even when playing 320Kbps MP3s. The sound is worse than any of the boombox CD/MP3 players we have at work or I have at home. Ten years ago or so I found that Korean CD players, even the highest end ones, were far inferior to the high-end Japanese ones. The high-end Samsung CD players were muddy and ill-defined in sound. Little seems to have changed now that they have moved to MP3 players. I regret buying this player. I bought it so that I could avoid going through iTunes to put everything onto an iPod, but when I compare my friends' iPods to the yepp yp-u1, the sound quality of the Samsung sounds even worse. If, like me, you like good sound quality, stay clear of this machine, and if my guess is right, anything Samsung has to offer.

Good: Small and lightweight. USB port attached
Bad: It just doesn't last long
Comment: I have had two of these since Christmas. The first was a present and the second was a warranty replacement. The first stopped working completely after about a month. My second one has just packed in after 3 months. It still works as an MP3 player but it won't charge up anymore, so once the battery dies then it's going back to the shop... again! The software provided is okay, but it didn't like my download program so getting tracks onto the player was an issue. That was resolved by burning onto a disc then loading onto the player through the CD drive. I would never have another one of these players.
