Good: Great sound and good earphones
Bad: Buggy software that gives a new meaning to the 'reset' button; No "mass-storage" mode, the only possibility to transfer music is with this awkward MTP protocol; No integration of the SD card, which is mostly useless as it is
Comment: Good mp3 player, though you'll have to struggle with its poorly implemented software. It could have been great if only they had debugged it.

Good: When it comes to sound quality, this beats any other mp3 player I've heard!
Bad: The aspect ratio of the screen means widescreen content has bars at the top and bottom.
Comment: I am a musician and music producer. All I can say is this mp3 player sounds like an expensive studio setup. I didn't even bother buying new headphones as the ones that came with it were brilliant!
The frequency response is great. From a rich bass to a bright treble.
I have had a good couple of years worth of constant use from my zen and it has served me well. The only reason I am upgrading is because my girlfriend took a liking to it. When I offered to buy her a brand new mp3 player for her birthday she refused, she wanted mine because she said it sounded better than anything she's used. (she also has an i-phone).
Encoding videos on this is a bit tricky, there are some 3rd party programs available. I've not really looked at the creative software. I've just used winamp with it and drag and dropped my videos to the videos folder in the player.
If I could change one thing, it would be the aspect ratio of the screen so it could play widescreen more effectively, also, I would include an AV out.... but wait. They included all of that in the zen x-fi 2!

Good: small and works
Bad: nothing really
Comment: I bought this for my girlfriend, who is now my wife. She is tech OK, but not fascinated by it. She loves the Zen, and can use it wihtout too much trouble, it has no sync problems and sounds ace. Also working happily after a year or so. Top banana as a product. I would buy one, but buy the 32gb option.

Good: Amazing sound quality, size, features, easy to use menus
Bad: Battery life could be better
Comment: Having had the original Zen for over 4 years it was starting to get a little warn out... dropped on the treadmill at the gym a few too many times. I tried a number of PMP's including ipod and Archos... and then I heard the a new Zen was coming from Creative - the X FI. I read a number of reviews and having been so pleased with the first Zen I opted for the 32GB model.
I am not disappointed... almost everyday for a couple of months I have thought - What a great player !!! Sound is awesome (using Sennheiser headphones).
