Good: The video is nothing short of perfect. Trumps the iPod 30GB in all respects.
Bad: Takes bit of getting used to the sensitive navigation thumb controls.
Comment: This multimedia player is the best investment I've made in 20 years. It plays videos perfectly, even on the small screen. The colours are vibrant, sharp and clear. I can find no problems at all with the MP3 player as well. Powerful lows, sharp highs and mids that just blow me away. And when you add to the equation that is has a built-in FM player and address and phone number storage as well, you have the total package here.
And don't let the 30GB thing fool you, videos can be compacted with the proper software on this unit to store up to 250 hours of high quality video. All in all this unit beats the iPod in every respect hands down.

Good: Battery life
Bad: Other people will call you copycat, 262k colour screen - so what? Nokia E61 has 16 milllion
Comment: I mean if you know something about the iPod you will know you will be able to change the graphic user interface, install and boot 3+ OSs and convert video from DVD/video files up to 720x306 and as the iPod has a physical QVGA screen it sizes the frames down, and offers better sharpenss. As for MP4 converter for iPod, if you own an AV cable it will be able to output full movie resultion on a TV. Adding video to the iPod couldn't be easier. The main reason for the sucess of iPod in the first place was the use of both hardware and software.

Good: Nothing. See summary
Bad: Creative's refusal to support Windows 2000 SP4 OS
Comment: Potential buyers beware. The Creative Zen Vision M will NOT work unless your PC runs Windows XP. It is not backward compatible, and I for one was not prepared to shell out more money and time to upgrade my OS just to suit an MP3 player.

Good: Everything, video quality is SUPERB as too is the sound. The pictures are excellent too.
Bad: Screen can get scratched easy (not as bad as the iPod though). I recomend the screen protectors for about £5 for 6.
Comment: I don't understand why people buy the iPod video ahead of this. The battery life is double on the Creative, and the video quality is way better. More video can be stored too, and the player supports many video and music formats, unlike the iPod. The software is also very helpful, and includes a really good media player. Putting video or music on couldn't be easier, and takes just a few seconds. I also really like the navigation, which is often complained about, however I did own a Creative Zen before this, which may be why. The only downfall is the screen can scratch (scratches can be removed easily using car wax or a product called AppleSauce). I also bought screen protecters, which don't alter the viewing and protect the player from scratches.
Hand on heart, this is the best MP3 player on the market.

Good: Sound quality, build quality, navigation system, capacity
Bad: 17GB data storage (not 30GB), slightly thicker than other competitive players
Comment: A simply superb device that has exceeded my expectation in every way. In the future, it will be even better if they can reduce the thickness of the unit.
The sound quality is crystal clear with great bass response. Its the best sound I've heard from a portable player. Even better than my old MiniDisc player which I thought sounded great.
The navigation system on the player is a treat to use. Ignore the comments regarding its usability. You would have to be an absolute idiot not be able to use it. Its so intuitive, just like using the touchpad on a laptop. Funnily enough, you begin to expect everything on the player to have a feather-like touch sensitivity to it, but the play and menu buttons actually require quite a firm press to activate.
I can't fault the unit in anyway. It works perfectly as an external HDD as well, although I've been told that it can only store 17GB of data (not 30GB as you would expect). If this can be improved to use the full 30GB that would be perfect. Also it could do with being put on a diet before the next generation's release.

Good: Everything!, GUI, video playback, easy to use, and touchpad isnt as bad as CNET says!!
Bad: Tactile buttons are firm but ok when you get used to it
Comment: Everything about this player is brilliant! The screen is amazingly colourful and bright. The video plays with no jumps or pixel shifting, even on high bitrate files like my CKY 2K movie. The audio playback is amazingly clear and crisp. BUY THE ZEN VISION:M if you can't decide between the iPod gen 5 and this, way better. Argos now stock the black model by the way!
