ANZAC 1 February 2012

Good: It's been playing faultlessly for over 5 years now... battery life of 52 hours; everything really

Bad: User interface is not intuitive. Nothing else!

Comment: It is not an MP3 player it is a PMP = portable media player.
Quality of sound is awesome (with my Shure SE425)
Durability is spectacular
Radio & DAB great bonuses... dear user your headphone cable is the aerial... poor reception = poor headphone/cable, so stop blaming the D2!
52 hours of battery life! I have just changed the built-in battery (which can't be changed by user they they say?) which is easy with the right tools.
Plays videos, photos, text docs, records, & use as a memory stick etc etc
Bundles of memory (with the right choice of player and memory card)
Cowon is King and iPlod users are sheep ;)

I own it

Good: Everything

Bad: Memory capacity.

Comment: People on here reviewing these things need to grow up, i mean one guy gives it a 1 because he didnt like the radio quality, i mean if you want a radio buy a dedicated one, this is essentially a mp3 player with the radio as a bonus!!!!!

And as a mp3 player its brilliant, sounds superb with my shure se530's and the battery life and features (including a great EQ) are just all great. Well worth a buy, if you like good audio, this beats ipods down with no question!!!! Especially my 5.5g ipod

Good: (74mW) really loud, many features,

Bad: system no stable, freezing problem with DAB, ext. card recognition prob., weak equalizer

Comment: Has to reset every day, DAB sometimes does not work in the same place and works only outside, 80 HZ lowest and 11.7 kH highest freq really crap, mach3bass does not incrase low-end bass, touch screen really tricky, not easy to use, after upgrade the system has stopped when I stick 8Gb sd card. It`s a really not stable device.

Good: Sound quality

Bad: DAB and FM radio functions useless

Comment: When I set up the DAB fromm scan it found 51 radio stations. None of them would play for more than a milisecond. The reason being that the firmware did not support more than 40 stations. They then brought out an update which was time consuming and fiddly to load. This only supported up to 50 stations so still useless. If it were possible to delete a couple of stations from the can result then it would not matter so much, but it would not. A further upgrade was promised for the end of October. The suppliers told me that one was produced but that it did not work. No promise of any proper update to enable the DAB to be used in areas where there are more than 50 stations.
The FM scan just produces a list of frequencies and does not identify the radio station. Chanign from one (once you have found it) to another is therefore very haphazzard.
Don't buy it. It has not been field tested or properly thought through. If you want good mp3 then buy a cheaper produced without the claimed radion performance.
