Good: Small Size, Stylish
Bad: Headphones deteriorate
Comment: The Shuffle 3 is perfect for my favourite songs when on my bike, but I do prefer a screen for my entire library on my Nano. The shuffle has no playback controls and so ideally requires headphones with the control, but any headphones will play music at a reasonable volume if you plug them in and switch it to shuffle :)

Good: Small and portable
Bad: Controls have migrated to earphone jack which easily get corroded and malfunction
Comment: I have religiously used a previous generation iPod shuffle until the battery wore out and I was required to replace it with the the new version I am reviewing here. At first I thought the migration of controls to the earphone jack was a super idea. However, the whole purpose of having a small, lightweight MP3 player without a lot of 'flash' is often to use it whilst doing sport -- like running, cycling, walking, etc.,... It turns out that shifting the controls onto the earphone jack is a rotten idea because they routinely malfunction when they come into contact with perspiration or sweat. Once the controls have become corroded, the player no longer functions and one must replace the earphone jack.

Good: Has 4Gb
Bad: Too small, learning curve for headphone
Comment: Sometimes making something smaller than it already is is not the best idea, and that is one of them.
I think this is a step backwards compared to the last shuffle, as it's not really easy to understand how to make it work, and inside the headphones there is this little chip that makes using other earphones impossible.
If you want a small and nice shuffle get the last version one.
