Samsung SyncMaster T240HD
With tonnes of connection options, including two HDMI ports and an ATSC/QAM tuner, great performance and useful features, the Samsung SyncMaster T240HD display is an excellent bargain. We do have a few gripes with brightness and colour, but the sharp text makes up for it. All in all, it's a steal for what you get

At 24 inches, the HP w2408h monitor is certainly large, but it's also gorgeous. Cleverly and thoughtfully designed, it can rotate to accomodate a portrait orientation, handy for surfing the Web. Its impressive image quality and high resolution make it great for watching 1080p high-definition movies

LG Flatron L226WTQ
LG's Flatron L226WTQ monitor produces amazing colours. The blacks are dark and the whites are stark. Performance-wise, the gaming is impressive, and it will play your favourite games and movies play back as smoothly as if the panel was lined with butter. Now that's smooth

Asus LS201
The Asus LS201 has a reinforced glass panel, making it ideal if you've got unruly children or if you're an exec who's prone to a few stressful outbursts. It looks good too, but you'll have to decide whether its image quality is up to your standards

LG Flatron L1960TR
LG's stylish Black Jewel monitor is the leader of the pack in terms of high contrast. It produces a contrast ratio of 3,000:1, making it great for seeing all the detail in hi-def movies, and a 2ms response time ensures no blurring

Viewsonic ViewDock VX1945wm
ViewSonic's ViewDock VX1945wm is an attractive monitor that comes with an integrated iPod dock. The display is pretty good -- its 5ms response time ensures there's no ghosting -- but you may be disappointed by the sound quality

LG Flatron M203WA
LCD TVs don't always make the best PC monitors because of their comparatively low resolution, high price and questionable image quality. LG's 20-inch M203WA monitor tries to address these problems by including speakers and an analogue TV tuner -- it's a decent price, too

Dell E207WFP
Dell's E207WFP's design is pleasing to the eye -- it has a thin outer bezel finished in matte black and its controls are sensibly located. Under the surface, however, it's not all rosy. Its image quality lets it down and the colour reproduction is awful. And now priced at £272 rather than the £155 first listed, it's not so much of a bargain after all

ViewSonic VX2025wm
The ViewSonic VX2025wm is a great monitor for light graphics and design work, or anyone who needs to see multiple documents or spreadsheets on-screen. It packs good-sounding speakers and excellent gaming performance for just under £300, which makes it the most affordable 20-inch widescreen monitor we've seen

Acer F-17
The smallest in Acer's Ferrari lineup, the F-17 is boldly styled, with a bright-red rear and a prominent prancing horse on the front. It offers a plethora of inputs, excellent image quality and Formula One-speed response time. It's not widescreen, though, and if you don't like sporting merchandise, steer clear
