The 'cinema' mode helps you focus your attention on video clips by dimming the rest of the display while leaving the video window bright. A 'time control' option is also included, whereby the power LED can be programmed to flash after a pre-set interval, to remind you to take a break.
The 'Fun' category provides useful aspect-ratio-control functions and the previously mentioned EZ Zooming feature, as well as rather pointless photo effects, such as sepia, monochrome and even a soft blurry mode.
You can avoid using the on-screen menus altogether, if you like. The Forte Manager software also allows you to set up and calibrate your monitor from the Windows desktop, and that's much easier than navigating using the monitor's own control buttons.
Minor quibbles are the lack of any USB ports or speakers. A headphone socket is provided, but it's situated around the back, next to the monitor inputs, which is highly inconvenient.
Conclusion
The LG W2353V represents great value for money, offering a decent array of inputs, a slick design and good image quality, as well as useful software.

Comment: It's great you mention that you can mount it on a monitor arm, when it doesn't have the mentioned VESA mount capability...

Good: Easy to set up. Excellent clear display and HDMI input for my Kodak Sportplay cam.
Bad: It takes time to work out menu options. registration does not recognise their own model number, so if you want to register ..it's a phone call. A more adjustable stand woul;d have given a 9/10.
Comment: On receiving the product , I plugged it in, switched on and it works.'Set up' to obtain the best picture is easy, but I found the touch sensitive method difficult to manage at first, now having practised it is not too bad. I have upgraded from an old Viewsonic 19Inch monitor, so I really notice the difference in quality.
I am delighted with this product and I would recommend it. The design is not 'gaudy' but sensible , clean and smart. The display is faultless. You have to remember that the price (£162) is very competitive for a monitor of such quality. On contacting the help centre to register I found LGE.co.uk who are English, polite and very helpful...glad I went for this product after loads of review checking lots of comparable monitors.
