HTC HD2
Hail the current king of Windows Mobile smart phones. With a huge, 109mm capacitive touchscreen, a plethora of features and its beautiful HTC Sense user interface, the responsive and speedy HD2 achieves the near impossible -- making Windows Mobile desirable

HTC Touch2
The diminutive Touch2 is the first smart phone we've seen that runs Windows Mobile 6.5, and we're pleased to say that, although not perfect, the operating system is an improvement over previous versions. The Touch2 also benefits from access to the satisfying My Phone online syncing service, and Microsoft's app store

HTC Touch Pro2
The Touch Pro2 is one of the biggest phones we've seen in a long time, but that's not necessarily a bad thing: there's plenty of room for a large, high-resolution touchscreen and spacious, slide-out keyboard. For those who want to send plenty of messages without getting hand cramp, this powerhouse is worth a look

HTC Hero
The HTC Hero is the best Android phone yet. Among many other delights, it boasts a great on-screen keyboard, multitouch functionality and an innovative user interface that smoothes over many of Android's rough edges. While it can occasionally be sluggish, it's a true rival to Apple's iPhone

HTC Touch Diamond2
The touchscreen Touch Diamond2 ticks all the boxes when it comes to features, including Wi-Fi, HSDPA, a 5-megapixel camera and GPS. It's got plenty of apps on-board, and there's loads more to download, but the TouchFLO interface can't mask Windows Mobile's usability flaws, so it's not the most finger-friendly device

HTC S740
The messaging-focused, Windows Mobile-running HTC S740 doesn't break any new ground, but it performs well and has a striking design. With top-class connectivity and an impressive slide-out keyboard, the phone is a viable alternative to a BlackBerry for those who need serious messaging features on the go

HTC Touch 3G
The Touch 3G is an attractive Windows Mobile smart phone that doesn't disappoint in the speed or responsiveness stakes. It's relatively easy to use and has an impressive set of features, but it isn't a great enough advance on the original Touch to challenge the iPhone's supremacy

HTC Advantage X7510
The HTC Advantage X7510 smart phone is a great piece of kit. We especially liked the haptic Qwerty keyboard and large screen. With Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional OS and 16GB of storage, you have a useful alternative to a laptop for out of office use

HTC TyTN II
For instant access to email and a Qwerty keypad that sits up like a mini-laptop, this newly upgraded model could be the perfect business phone. With its new hard-hitting features including Windows Mobile programs, GPS, Wi-Fi and HSDPA, this smart phone packs a major punch

HTC Touch
HTC firmly denies that the iPhone played any part in the Touch's design, but with such similar styling and a finger-friendly interface, it's impossible not to draw the comparison. But can a Windows Mobile 6 handset really take on the might -- and hype -- of Apple?

HTC STRTrk
The HTC STRTrk, aka the Qtek 8500, is a clamshell handset that runs on Windows Mobile 5. Despite having a 1.3-megapixel camera and small navigation keys, its quirky design (and name) is sure to attract die-hard fans of the cult sci-fi series, as well as Windows Mobile users wanting to synchronise with their PCs
