The Pre has finally landed on UK shores, and it's been well worth the wait. It's a beautifully designed, intuitive and speedy smart phone whose multi-tasking capability gives it at least one leg up on the iPhone. The App Catalog needs some attention, but Palm says it's on the case

It's not without its flaws, but, when the Pre's good, it's very good. Its multitasking functionality and notifications system, for example, are streets ahead of the competition, and the webOS is a really solid and stable platform. The iPhone may still have the edge but Palm is back in the game
