"Don't believe the hype"
What I like:
Looks and feel.
What I don't like:
TouchFlow and Design from usability perspective
Review:
Two things I am not at all happy with this phone. Unfortunately HTC does not mention them in the product tour/ feature list:
1. G-Sensor does not work with ALL applications except 'Opera' (Internet browser). The biggest drawback of this 'bug' with the TouchFlow is that the user can't make use of the wide QWERTY keyboard which is most convenient for typing (gives more space for touch sensitivity & character recognition)
2. TouchFlow sensitivity is too high (although one can change it, but does not really help). TouchFlow limits the Contacts flow option to only few on the screen. Also it does not give many customisation options.
Misc issues:
- The only option to lock the phone is a small button on the top which takes lot of effort to press (unless you have long nails). These is no soft lock.
- The volume buttons on the left side can not be soft-locked and every time it changes the settings for system and ringing volume (unless you hold the phone in a different position or handle it without touching the keys)
- The Radio can not be used without earphones/headsets (on speaker) also the headsets that comes along dose not have any controls (volume/mute)
- In the last 15 days the phone hanged abruptly 2 times and I had to remove the battery to restart it. Also if you press the on/off button for too long the phone does not start but shows three coloured screen (Red/Green/Blue) for a long time and again one has to remove the battery to restart it.
Windows Mobile 6.1 is still not matured on the HTC hardware and I am pretty sure that this phone was launched in a hurry to compete with the market without resolving lot of issues with Touch|Flow. (Exactly same situation is with Sony Ericsson Xperia X1.)
I would strongly recommend to wait till HTC resolve these issues in the new release and then buy the phone to avoid lot of disappointments and also to get maximum returns on the considerable investment.
