"Almost, but not quite"
What I like:
Touchscreen functionality
What I don't like:
Basic phone functionality missing
Review:
Although it's revolutionising mobile phone industry with touchscreen technology. What it lacks far outways its qualities.
ADVANTAGES
1. Great touchscreen technology. Very responsive with lots of trendy functionality: layout changes according to orientation of phone (horizontal, vertical), zooming in, newspaper article focus etc.
2. Lots of cool applications available via Apple site.
3. Possibility of using iskype to make calls abroad(see disadvantages below).
4. Stylish
5. Fantastic graphics/resolution.
DISADVANTAGES
1. Lack of wi-fi is unforgivable in this day and age.
2. No MMS - a very basic function on all other phones.
3. Inability to forward txt messages - a very basic function on all other phones.
4. Restricted to O2 network in the UK which is one of the worse networks as its availability UK wide is very limited is certain areas.
5. Although Apple has iSkype, because phone is locked to O2, this is not available via O2 and therefore cannot be used.
6. Having to send your phone away for a replacement battery is ridiculous! Who wants to part with their phone for a week or two till battery is replaced. Why have to pay to replace it when we're perfectly capable to replace it ourselves.
7. Again because locked to O2, when abroad you get charged (quite a lot!) for receiving emails, despite internet being 'unlimited' on any plan.
8. Inability to access your Hotmail account (Yikes!!!)
9. GPS only shows where you on a map (uses Google). It does not give directions or have any arrow indications of where to turn etc.
10. Lack of copy and paste - again a very basic function on other phones.
11. Inability to take videos but plays them really well.
12. Synchronising calendar/contacts is a nightmare!
That's my two-pence worth!
