What is it: Smartphone with sat-nav features
What we think: The A501 is a brave attempt at combining a smartphone and a sat-nav, but the result is disappointing

| Review summary | The Nokia N95 has set the benchmark for smartphones with sat-nav features and unfortunately the Mio DigiWalker A501 gets nowhere near it. The device packs plenty of features into a small space, but its sluggish performance, ugly design and lack of 3G and Wi-Fi support are just too off-putting to make it a success Read full review |
Apple has put the icing on the cake with the iPhone 3G S, adding many of the smaller features that we missed on the previous model. It's not a huge change from the iPhone 3G, so look carefully at the hardware before upgrading or investing in this expensive phone, but it won't disappoint users who crave a great user experience. It's the current king of gadgets Read full review |
If you can stand the Hero's occasional sluggishness, it's a fantastic smart phone packed with great features. We like its distinctive looks, and the innovative user interface brings Android much closer to being as fun and good-looking as the iPhone OS, while being far more customisable. Occasional lag and Android's rough edges mean it's not quite an iPhone killer, but it's definitely fighting in the same class Read full review |
Apple has taken the iPhone to the next level and added some truly mouth-watering features. 3G is lightning fast compared to EDGE, and GPS means you'll never get lost again. You still can't send MMS and there's only a 2-megapixel camera, which may annoy you, but overall it's a wonderful experience Read full review |
