Typical price: £370
What is it: Hand- and pocket-friendly mobile with huge storage capacity and pretensions as a mobile music player
What we think: Small, neat and good looking, but ultimately falls over its own music-playing feet

We like:
Super FM radio; lovely camera; nice feel in the hand; large capacity bundled Memory Stick Pro Duo; good battery life
We don't like:
Cumbersome music transfer system; average headset; memory looks plentiful now, but won't in a few months time
You might also need:
Better 3.5mm headset; more Memory Stick Pro Duo cards
CNET.co.uk judgement:
The W800i is a nicely featured handset, comfortable to use and with great battery life. It plays music reasonably well, and holds a lot of it thanks to the capacious bundled Memory Stick Pro Duo. But getting music onto the handset is difficult and the quality of sound output is poor. We'll wait for the next generation of music phone
