What is it: A widescreen phone with no keypad
What we think: The Nokia 7710 is a very innovative handset whose large screen suggests great things. Unfortunately in the end it doesn't quite deliver

We like:
Lots of on-board memory; big screen; crammed with software; touch screen; great handwriting recognition
We don't like:
Hard to use one-handed; not designed for voice calls; poor video playback; stereo headset could be better
You might also need:
MultiMediaCards for storing your own music, video and photos; Bluetooth headset for making voice calls without holding a brick to your ear
CNET UK judgement:
There's certainly no shortage of memory or software in this handset, and some of the software, such as the Web browser, is superb. But there are a number of failings that let the whole package down
