Walkman phones

Sony Ericsson has breathed new life into the Walkman brand. While Apple just recently dipped its toe into the music phone world, Sony Ericsson has been at it for some time now and there's no sign that the Swedish Japanese company is going to stop any time soon.

But what makes Sony Ericsson Walkman phones so popular? Well, it probably helps that they tend to look more stylish than your average handset and have dedicated music keys. The Walkman player is also easy to use and almost identical to a standalone MP3 player's interface.

If you're looking for a music phone it's definitely worth having a look at a Sony Ericsson. Before you take the plunge, keep the following tips in mind.

If you have a large music collection, you need to find out how much the handset can store and if the storage limit meets your needs.

Another feature you should investigate is how good the phone is. This might sound obvious, but many people buy music phones for the music features alone and then realise that using the handset as a phone is awful, so make sure you check every feature out properly, particularly things such as texting and dialling.

Finally, if it's music you want, then you'll want to know what kind of headphones come with the phone or if there's an adapter in the box that allows you use your own cans. Some of the provided headphones aren't fantastic and completely destroy an otherwise good music phone.
