Good: Sound. Great stereo sound when recording video.
Bad: An extra screen protector is a must! One was provided in the box but it's a pain to fit without getting bubbles.
Comment: Having loads of ram is a boon.
It feels hard in the hand but I used an aftermarket flip cover which helps the feel. I would say it is essential. I previously used an Xperia Neo that had insufficient ram but it felt nice in the hand and after two years without a cover or protecter looks almost new!
Good: Parts of its spec of course
Bad: wifi is faulty
Comment: The folks who say all you need to do is change the encryption to get the wifi working with your phone seem to have a notion that nobody uses their mobile phone outside the house on wifi.
I wish them luck around the world going to hotels and cafes and getting access to the hosts wifi router to change the encryption to WEP if it is not that already.
Good: Nothing is good about the phone
Bad: Cheap quality glass used. Cheap body.
Comment: Sony Xperia Z is one of the worst phone. The screen is not at all durable, as the sony global website brags about the the phone is stronger and durable.
The company website states :-
1) Smart, sleek & durable
No one knows how to best pack durability into a beautiful design like Sony. The slim 7.9 mm body, with its reflective glass surface, looks and feels slick, but Xperia Z is crafted to be water-resistant, dust-resistant and tough enough to handle whatever life has planned.
2) Tough as metal
How solid does a precision engineered smartphone need to be? How about as solid as a car? Xperia Z’s frame is made from glass fibre polyamide, the same material that’s used as a metal substitute in automobile parts.
3) Durable glass
The durable tempered glass on front and back is a lot stronger than conventional glass. And with anti-shatter film on the front and back, Xperia Z is anything but fragile
Unfortunately after 15 days of buying this Xperia Z the phone was been dropped by a kad at my home from dining table annd the screen Scattered the body also got cracked. I had been to Sony service Center and they do not even know the cost of repair. I tried to convince the the staff at service center that the website phone mentioned that the phone is strong so how did the glass schattered and the body.obtained crack from just 3 feet dining table.
The phone also heats up even not in use or while not charging, & the audio quality is low, and even the battery optimizitation mode does not works properly,
When called up customer care they are of not appropriate help. 1st they informed they not know the cost of the repair. Later they say the phone cannot he repaired and they have to replace the phone with the additional cost that is half the cost of new phone.
Senoir executives do not reply to calls, they are arrogant and rude.
Moral of the review : The phone ” Sony Xperia Z ” is not worth a buy, Xperia Z is not a “A” catogary phone. Cheap glass, and heats up brings disadvantage to phone. all I can joke is the phone is waterproof so that one can make the phone cool by immersing it in water…
DO NOT BUY THE PHONE FOR EVER…
Good: Spped , features, appearance
Bad: the wifi is faulty and not fit for purpose
Comment: Before getting this phone and imagining you could use it with wifi in places where you cannot reconfigure the source of the wifi , that being the access point, be sure to google wifi problems Xperia Z. The phone's wifi system is faulty and they must be in breach of the Trades Description Act in spirit if not absolute terms. Appalling, when will they fix it ? can they fix it ?, is it a hardware issue or the software which controls it ? - who knows
Good: camera, speed, battery
Bad: not the best feel in your hand, some bindled apps.
Good: Most things
Bad: What they don't tell you!
Comment: Okay, just taken delivery of the Xperia Z (C6603) and downloaded the latest firmware before starting to configure the phone. A time consuming task I don’t look forward to but now here's a funny thing. The first job I attempted to do was to set up the Wi-Fi connection to my wireless router at home... and this is when it all went wrong. Just like many people, I have my wireless router set so it doesn’t broadcast its SSID to every potential hacker in the neighbourhood. Unfortunately it turns out Sony decided not to make this phone compatible with hidden SSID’s. Yes, that’s right - the only smart phone in the top ten list that I can’t use at home, or my friends, or anywhere else where a Wi-Fi connection is set not to broadcast its SSID - unbelievable... and from Sony of all organisations!
Good: screen size for my fingers
Bad: battery life,
Comment: I love to buy one of these days.
Good: great to hold, perfect size for me, waterproof, great to read/brwose
Bad: attracts dust (though easy to clean off- and I can put it under the tap!)
Comment: I love this phone. The size is perfect for me. I tried a Note 2 and didn't like the feel of that, but this is great.
