Good: Camera, screen, build quality, look
Comment: My first smart phone was the SE X10, which of course was considered a bad phone because it shipped with 'out of date' Android 1.6. But of course over time SE rolled out timely updates. The Sony Xperia S I know will update when things are good and ready (and to be honest Sony has not tampered with Honey Comb too much as it runs fast). It also has an original look and feels good in the hand, and preserves the style of the early xperia models. The screen is perhaps the best thing ever, along with the camera, and is very quick to fire off shots, even when locked.

Good: All sony product's are of good quality(high-end products), I'm so excited to have my own Xperia S
Bad: Nada, Nothing!
Comment: I like the 12mp camera; playstation capability, music, the design is gorgeous! The plasticky/ clunky review by Natasha is not so important as compared to Iphone. I dare Natasha to make a DROP TEST and see which phone will survive the test??? Iphone's glass screen once broken is irreparable and it is so much costly. I want one, I can't wait for the release here in Saudi Arabia.. You cannot put a good brand down, it shows in the review users review is more important because they already have hands-on experience. Bravo SONY -aside from BRAVIA engine :) keep it up...

Good: signal, processor
Comment: Forgot to mention: it has the strongest signal of any phone we've had in the house (is it because the antenna is in the clear strip).
The processor is also extremely fast. I use voice recognition/texting a lot and comparing it the Samsung SII, it takes about half the time to do the same job. Fantastic!

Good: screen, design, classy, strong signal, camera
Bad: buttons
Comment: I've lived with this phone for a couple of weeks now - and I love it. Unlike the review (a clearly iPhone-biased review - come on CNET you're better than that!) I can compare it with a Galaxy SII (as well as an iPhone - but there I'm biased so I'll stay clear).
I don't know how the design can be described as clunky - it is a thing of beauty - so classy, smooth and has a feel of real quality. I think Sony have done a fantastic job there.
I should also say that the Galaxy SII in the family was upgraded to ICS today. Don't hold your breath - it's not that much different - a few neat touches but so similar to Gingerbread it's not an issue at all. Not sure whether I will upgrade or not when it's available.
The capacitative buttons have come in for a bit of criticism - probably justified - however, after using it for a day it became second nature and not a problem at all (you can also slide your finger up from the transparent bar - that way you get the button every time). The covers on the usb and HDMI ports are also not an issue (as some reviews have suggested. The first couple of times you use them they're a little stiff - after that they're fine and slot back in easily. I like the fact that they are not open. Adds to the classy feel.
If you want a quality alternative to the faceless Samsung and Apple phones out there, this is the one. You really won't be disappointed :))

Good: Great features fantastic Camera
Bad: GPS fails after 10 minutes
Comment: GPS fault... This issue is to be fixed with a Firmware release not available in the UK yet.

Comment: The phone is the best effort yet from either Sony Ericsson or Sony depending on what you read. I've now owned the X10, Arc and now the S, as well as many SE handsets in the past. Build quality is extremely good, especially when compared to the favorite of many the iPhone. As a user that repairs a lot of friends phones with screen damage I.e shattering Sony always prove to be the best for being robust whereas the iPhone is simply and easily the worst, also being held together with what seems to be glue and gum inside, rather than being designed to last. Sony keep up the good work and continue to provide solid reliable handsets unlike one of your major competitors, even if they use their own stand alone operating system.:-D I'm sick to death of seeing reviews that bench mark against the iPhone. If you guys actually stripped one down against any other of the competitors it's diar. Rather than reviewing the cameras review the whole package. For those who want to get the iPhone it might force Apple to design something of quality that justifies its ludicrous price tag:-((

Good: Screen, speed
Bad: No NFC tags in sim free box, battery
Comment: Now own the phone,
As per previous comment, default is a 9mp image takes all of 1 second to change it over to the full 12mp image. The auto scene detection on the camera is very nice.
As for the review of the screen having a sharp plastic layer, that would be a preinstalled screen protector m'dear.
Downsides so far is first charge is down to 25% in just 14.5 hours with the phone idle for 14 of those hours. I hope thats just the battery calibration.
