Good: The phone sound quality when you speak to someone and the speed of the internet.
Bad: REALLY Over-complicated, over-designed, without concentrating on the basics.
Comment: Hmmm...where do I start.
A phone that looks slick but isn't. I think it was designed by someone who really over-cooked it. All the tweets and whistles with no thought:
a) Like many phones but especially bad on the Xperia J, you can't actually see the screen at all in sunlight.
b) Why, when let's be honest, most people start checking their phones as soon as they wake up, why would you need a battery sound-alert that you can't switch off? The screen has a big alert that comes on
when the battery has 15%left left onit. Why would you want an alert that carries on throughout the day and night?
c) When you plug earphones in, there are 2 pages of settings to turn off or on. Why? Just make a phone that you plug earphones into and that's it. d) Energy saving is uber over-complicated.
e) The slide unlock when answering the phone doesn't always work. Why not just have as big-a-receiver button as possible?!
There are tons of other things that make this phone really over-complicated
If you are going to buy n Xperia, maybe by a different one. A regrettable thumbs down for this phone.
Good: Design, weight, screen
Bad: camera, frame skips
Comment: Bought this phone to replace mt X10mini Pro . So far everything seems to be above satisfactory, the apperance and design is very well made and slick, its defintaly got a nice look for the current generation smart phones.
The UI is easy to navigate and customize and comes with factory-based app's such as all the Google services, SAT-Nav, Office and Astro file manager to navigate through all its files.
Its single core processor does everything you need to keep in sync with your life (though takes ages to set up) It sync's with Facebook, Google, hotmail and schedules so you dont miss a beat and keeps on top of it all.
I have already tested the limits of this phones power and it doesnt quite go far in terms of gaming. I recently benchmarked GTA3 on it which requires heavy rendering and multipal objects appearing all together. However it barely pushes 10frames even on the lowest settings but all that aside that game is more suited for tablets and top of the range iPhones so its to be expected.
There are many variations of this phone and the Xperia J is more of a middle class. End of day you get what you pay for but owning this phone will keep you on your toes and help you with its services. Its abit slow but reliable
Good: Size of screen, clarity, ease of use, not complicated
Bad: Nothing yet
Comment: My partner normally has the "new one",but it was my turn this time. Am well pleased, as a wrinkly, because it is a step up, but not "in the clouds"! Your reviewer is a little sarcastic, considering that most users will not need all that they highlight...I like the comment about the SD card tho' and will add this asap.
Comment: Display is very good and it,s very smooth when running on the net. Overall I love it and give it a 9/10 overall, I,d recommend it to everyone.
Good: shape, size, colours, features, interface
Bad: occasional crashes, camera, home button
Comment: The phone is a good size - not too big or too small compared to other Xperia phones. I have a good deal with it, too. The interface is modern looking and the themes are bright and eye catching. I can do everything I need to with the phone: using apps, texting, using the internet etc etc
The only issues really are that the camera is pretty awful. However, it is a phone, not a camera.. so I have a camera for taking photos. I didn't really expect SLR quality photos from a phone.
The placement of the home button is frustrating, though. Whilst texting, the home button that returns you to the blank homepage is very close to the keyboard and is easy to accidentally press while texting. For this reason, I text with the phone on the side, which is fine.
Overall I like this phone after having it for 3 months now. There are only minor issues with freezing and touchscreen problems. So I give it 3.5/5 or 7/10. I do prefer phones with physical keyboards, like the Xperia x10 mini pro which I previously owned but there are very few of these around now. The Xperia J is a suitable alternative and does everything I require from a phone. I do recommend it!
Comment: this phone is perfect
Good: sleek, easy to use
Bad: front camera sucks!
Comment: i like it!
Good: Has android market place - lots of good apps. Music quality decent, organised layout
Bad: sometimes doesnt respond when i swipe to unlock, poor camera and video quality. Broke when i did the worm once, Weak screen
Comment: I've had this phone for about 3 weeks, it was serving its purpose fine. I then went out and had it in my pocket while i did 'the worm' This proved to be a bad idea, seeing as it completely smashed up the screen, so it lagged even more than before. I wouldnt have had this problem with an iphone, if only i could afford one!
Good: Battery Saver
Bad: EVERYTHING ELSE!!!
Comment: OK where to begin... ABSOLUTELY HATE IT!!!
- Rarely detects im swiping the phone
- Apps and standard software overload the processors causeing it to "lag".
- Cosmetics are very flimsy
- Charger port wobbles
- Battery life is awful, if you listen to music for an hour you'll be at about 50% battery AT MAX!
- Audio when using headphoens is awful, i turn it up as much as it will go and its still about 50% of what i want, sometimes spikes for about a millisecond at the volume i want but then goes back down
- Apps crash 7 times out of 10
- Camera quality is appauling!!!
- Phones comes will pointless apps that take up space
So much is bad about this phone i don't know where to stop!
Comment: phones fantastic i would buy it over a iPhone any day
