Good: Internet + Google Play + Camera is okay
Bad: Core applications
Comment: The Core applications are very poor - Trying to place a call, more often than not, leads to the following error message: "Application phone is not responding do you wish to close it?" Frankly I'd love to throw it at the wall! Poor contacts and phone options. Can't automatically add a contact from a message or a call. Applications continually freeze and the display is poor. I haven't yet immersed the the phone to test whether it is indeed waterproof, but it's so bad it may as well go for a dip anyway.
Good: It is actually waterproof. I accidentally dropped it into a (clean, luckily) toilet, and I've dropped it into a river, and it works still.
Bad: It can be incredibly slow at times, especially opening the camera app and Google Chrome.
Comment: As I said above, the phone can be very slow, and certain things it does drive me nuts, such as the fact that every time I exit Facebook, the phone will open the camera app, then if I press the back button, the phone opens Google Chrome, so I press the back button again, and it opens the camera app, and it results in this cycle many times. I have to press the home button to get out of it. Also, it is fantastically prone to freezing. However, the last few months, it's been fine. Perhaps it is because I am more of a app user than this phone is designed for. I am deaf, so I can't comment on the quality of phone calls. It does retain mobile signals quite well. If you are the sort of person who wants a basic smart phone to send quick texts, take acceptable pictures, make phone calls and some basic web browsing, then, it's fine. But if you intend to use it for more than that, then I recommend you look else where.
Good: Camera, not much
Comment: It scratches easily, it heats up, the speakers are quiet, it freezes all the time, it screens brightness drops, battery only lasts half a day, apps freeze, phone is slow, repeats just the one demand.
Sooo what im saying dont buy the phone!!
Good: Screen, Swype keyboard, battery life, Android ugrade
Bad: No removable battery, lag between apps, camera
Comment: I've had this phone for about 4 months, and for a 150 CDN phone, it is worth it's price. However, at least once a week, the phone suddenly dies, and since the battery is not removable, you need to hit the power button at the same time as the volume down key (reset button), and it usually takes around 1-2h to actually reset the phone. Just because of this, I am actually thinking of moving on to another device.
The rest of the phone on the other hand, is perfect for everyday use. The screen is sharp and clear, and very receptive, and although the xperia go is not that fast, you can still run many internet using applications (maps, facebook, instagram, line, whatsapp, bixi,...) with just a small lag.
Good: Nothing but only the look of it.
Comment: It definitely makes Sony Xperia Go my worst phone ever. Firstly the waterproof test soaks water in my Xperia Go. Secondly it takes me 10 seconds to type a alphabetical letter in messages and whatsapp. Thirdly, it always lags and cannot make a phone call.
Finally, Sony is a f**k. DON'T BUY SONY!!!! SONY IS STUPID.
Good: Sturdy, water/dust resistant
Bad: Not much
Comment: Screen resolution may be lower than on competing products in the same price range, but it helps keep the power consumption down, thus extending battery life. That was what was important to me, along with the water proofing, since I may be outside talking on the phone in rainy weather. I've used this phone since last year and can't really think of a reason to exchange it.
Good: Compact size, but still high performance
Bad: Nothing yet
Comment: It is a great phone, and the screen is not low resolution and the calls are not too low - for me at least. And now it is deliverd with the latest Android 4 version. I love this phone, which can be in my pocket, is fast, good looking and SONY have thought about how to make it great and easy to use.
Good: Supposedly water resistant (have not tried).
Bad: Extremely slow, bad screen resolution.
Comment: At first glance it looks good, but when you start using it you understand how shitty the phone is. Install some apps, and then the phone stops reacting... lags behind with 1-2 seconds for each touch at the screen. Avoid at all costs.
Good: Rugged, clean design, fast (compared to other low-end devices), nice camera
Bad: small screen, jammed keyboard
Comment: Overall great phone. Got it for a month already and still shows no signs of problems in the pool or when dropped on the ground. "OK" camera that takes bright and vivid photos under the right light conditions. Does not work well in the dark though. Even though the screen and keyboard is slightly jammed up, the device is still easy to use and very compact. Perfect for people like me who like running, swimming, or extreme sports.
Good: Supposedly water resitant
Bad: Is not water resistant. Worst customer service ever.
Comment: I'm tempted to paste my email thread with Sony about this phone. In a nutshell, it isn't even remotely water resistant; it's first dip in a sink of water destroyed it. When it went to the service center it was not repaired due to water damage-a phone sold as being water resistant denied coverage because of water damage? Yes, the covers were closed but one of them didn't seem to close very well. Sony has had the phone for more than 5 months now "pressure testing" it to ensure that I'm not lying about its dip in the water.
