Good: Almost everything - the jog dial in particular is great
Bad: The camera could be better
Comment: Admittedly, I've spent the last year tweaking and modding the phone (Opera 9.5, Fring, the W960i's Walkman player, etc.), but it's now so good that my Xperia is in the process of being sold. Once you get used to the keyboard, you'll find that it's far quicker than any touch-screen out there and far easier to use than the Xperia's monstrosity of a keyboard.
The push e-mail support for Gmail is superb, the speakerphone loud and clear, and even with heavy usage I still get a minimum of two days between charges.
The fact that you can now buy a new P1i for £150 makes it even better. If mine breaks, I'll be buying a new one straight away.

Good: Excellent features, doesn't crash
Bad: Extremely poor interface/operating system
Comment: I like the look and feel of this phone - it's slim and the alphanumeric keyboard works well. Battery life isn't that bad either - 2 days with heavier than average use.
Still, the more I use this phone, the less I like it. The interface is very, very poorly designed. It takes several clicks to get to an application. Applications don't close - you have to go to the task manager to do that, which is only accessible by clicking on the touchscreen's extreme upper right icon. This icon is difficult to click if you lost the stylus. It's also necessary to use the keyboard, touchscreen and side buttons to navigate around this phone. It's almost as if Sony Ericsson released a prototype.
I can't wait for my contract to end so I can get a Nokia or Iphone.

Good: the qwerty keyboard is excellent.....and the size and weight is awesome too
Bad: a little problem with battery life......could be better if it would be longer....
Comment: i don't know why this phone has low rating....this is a phone which has everything in it...compare to blackberry and other smart phone i think this should be in the top of all the range.......if there would be GPS i could rate this 10 out of 10.

Good: The phone is everything I want
Bad: UIQ 3.0 control system is clunky
Comment: This phone, on the surface, would appear to have everything, yet it often does a good job of disguising this fact. The control system is clunky, interchanging between the various methods of input - keyboard, jog-wheel, and touchscreen - seemingly at random; while the keyboard has been criticised for its peculiar rocker arrangement, though, it works quite well given some practice (and a lot of patience!) Most infuriating, though, is the lack of VPN software, which makes the WiFi almost unusable in a business sense, while the iSync client Sony has made entirely refuses to act. Compared to the S60 phone I switched from, this has much more tech, but its implementation is far worse, and third-party software more difficult to find. At this point, I think I can tolerate it for the remainder of my contract, but I wish I'd bought either another Nokia phone, or - and I especially feel this after the SDK announcement - the iPhone

Good: business card scanner
Bad: very very poor battery.
Comment: Even without talking, not lasting for more than 4 hour in idle condition after full charge. What the SE's QA / QC dept is doing in china. I bought this in singapore on last week. My SE K800i battery is very strong. This was also made in china. But compare to that the battery of the p1i is completly a crab. I always buy Sony products. But this phone change my mind set. Since still under warranty, let me go and change the battery.

Good: Big screen, good camera
Bad: Long-winded navigation and menu systems
Comment: At the time of this review, i've had my P1i a week or so, and had chance to explore the features. Whilst i am - on the whole - impressed, I can't help but feel navigating will take some getting used to, and in the back of my mind i'll always have a hankering for the ease-of-use of my previous phone, the W550i.
Contrary to the editor's review, i was able to establish a Wifi connection in about 30 seconds, 15 to root out the network key and 15 to type it in using the stylus and touch screen. I am also impressed that - when accessing the web - it will always look for stored Wifi connections first, before using WAP.
My main gripe is that I have to manually close down any internet connections (Wap or Wifi) after exiting the browser, or i could face a hefty phone bill come the end of the month.
To date I have been unable to alter the phone's theme, so i'm stuck with blue bubbles and ripples for now.
Other than that it is fairly quick loading up features, and a LOT of text fits on screen in the event I receive a lengthy text from someone, or want to browse a document online.
The business card scanner feature has so far been 100% accurate too, even if it took me some time to find the right menu for it!
In summary, a decent, clever phone, with a very good camera and well-sized screen, let down somewhat by a convoluted and ill-arranged menu layout.

Good: Qwerty Keyboard, Interface, Battery Life
Bad: Backlight stays on sometimes, a reboot stops this but is a bit annoying.
Comment: I got this phone primarily for business but also for its multimedia apps.
Business wise it's been exactly what I need. The qwerty keyboard is NOT as difficult to learn as I've read in other reviews, it just takes a little getting used to. Handwriting recognition has been fine, with only a few errors, although I don't use it much as the keyboard is just as quick for me. WiFi connectivity is very good, having set the unit up for both home and work in just a few minutes. GPRS is just as easy and provides good speeds. All messaging functions work smoothly and easily, with email being particularly good for me. I haven't used the business card scanner as I don't need to. Call quality has been very good. It's easy to use excel, word and PDF files and the docking facility is great/
Multimedia use has been just as good. Music playback is nice and clear, although the volume could be a bit higher. The Music player interface is easy to use and works well. Unfortunately it's necessary to use the SE headphones, unless you have an adapter, as the jack is SE's proprietary unit. The camera is excellent and almost makes my digital camera redundant for day to day shots.
Battery life has been very good so far, and a real bonus has been the spare battery that came in the box, meaning that even with heavy use I can go for three or four days without charging.
Don't listen to the gripes about the interface, just spend and hour or two playing with it and it'll be fine.
All in all it's the best phone I've found for me, someone who needs a business phone 75% of the time and a MM phone the rest.

Good: the sleek design, 3.2 camera with flash, crisp touchscreen & handwriting recognition.
Bad: not user friendly keyboard & "location" errorthat cause my time wrong & SMS received time error as well.
Comment: i like most features of the phone. i dont like the idea behind the keyboard, the normal phone keys would work just fine or may b on separate layer or something. the worst that i experienced is thaat my SMS received time is inaccurate. the problem is relate to its "location" setting. it doesnt work as it should. i think its a software error. i have contacted SE support centre, till now no solution. quite disappointing...

Good: Everything in a neat little package that WORKS!
Bad: Screen could be better.. Minor Software bugs..
Comment: On paper not the best out there, but considering the flaws in the opposition, no real competition as a an allrounder! Don't get caught up in the BS that its diffiult to use- it's not. Take a little time to get to know it and get used to the keyboard and it becomes intuitive!
