Good: Screen resolutions are always the good thing about samsung phones.
Bad: Widgets, no seconday camera function.
Comment: Samsung might have to work harder on the applications department in order to be on par with Apple.
Hopefully, the next generation of Galaxy phones would have secondary cameras that can be used to take photos, not just video calls.

Good: Beautiful screen, Android, fast hardware ensures zippy experience
Bad: Too similar to predecessor
Comment: Certainly a very attractive phone - they've taken the iPhone design and improved it tenfold. The software & UI in the Galaxy S was clean, quick and beautiful and surely this will be even better.
I can't see a better phone on offer at the moment

Good: Android 2.3, 4.27" screen, 1 GHz dual-core processor, 1 GB RAM, 8 MP camera, 2 MP front-facing camera, 1080p video capture, NFC chip
Bad: Late release and unannounced carriers
Comment: The battery is a 1630 mAh, which isn't bad. As for the release date, it was suppose to come out February in the UK (obviously, it hasn't), but I've read various websites and it's rumored to come out March 31st--meaning it will reach US in about April. It is up pre-order for people in the UK, though. I doubt the pre-order would start so early.

Comment: As the owner of a Galaxy S, which is flakey, and battery hungry (sometimes barely making it past lunchtime), I would avoid getting another. My colleagues with HTC Desires seems to have dramatically better experiences than I've had with mine, even on 2.2.
I'm a bit flabbergasted that this review does not mention battery life (I am certain the AMOLED screen is to blame) - but the new handset would HAVE to have better battery life, even with the bigger screen and dual-core processor.
Battery life is a crucial, core element to whether smartphones are satisfactory or not - cnet needs to concentrate far more on this factor.

Good: hardware
Bad: maybe software
Comment: We don't care if it is rectangle like the iphone, just do the review objectively and stop comparing every phone to iphone. Seriously, be a little professional instead of yet another fanboy, it's your job after all.

Good: Screen
Bad: battery life will take a pounding
Comment: Looks great, but not sure if I would want to lug a huge battery guzzling phone around with me all day that needs constantly charging.
