Good: Apps and fast response
Bad: Battery
Comment: Update to my previous review:
Like another reviewer, my phone has now also died.
After re-charging it (as it went down overnight), I was unable to re-start the phone. Taking the battery and sim out and replacing them did nothing. Annoyingly when phone plugged into pc via USB, it shows me the full battery icon, but the phone just will not switch back on. I know that sometimes there are duff machines and someone has to get one, but this phone is suposed to be from a top notch manufacturer. I think that maybe more faulty ones will come to light over the coming months. Ah well, at least I enjoyed looking through the apps when it did work, even though it would not stay on long!
Back to the shop and it's a Desire for me I think.

Good: All the apps, speed of response
Bad: Battery life non-existant, no flash
Comment: I have now had this phone for 10 days and although I think it's the best phone I have ever used I will be returning it.
The battery life is worse than appalling, for example I fully charged it, left it on the coffee table at 11:30pm and during the night I heard it make the 'out of battery' sound. I am lucky to get two to three hours out of it UNUSED and am having to carry my old phone around as well for when it goes dead. I have had the phone on flight mode for 2 days to save power and tried all of the tips to save power but I really don't want a phone which cannot be used for the desired purpose.
I will be very sad to lose this phone but the battery unreliability is driving me nuts. I am not willing to get a new battery as I really don't want to use up any more of contract 'returnable time' of 28 days.
Pity because apart from the battery I would keep it, as I said probably the best phone I have ever used.

Good: The whole phone
Bad: The lightweight chassis and the battery
Comment: HAd my eye on this phone for a while now and I have had a close look at one, and even while the samsung software is pants, the phones sheer power leaves a massive gap for other launchers like launcher pro plus and adw launcher or home ++, when you get this phone rooted and overclocked to something like 1.2 - 1.3ghz it will annihilate all.
I think the lightweight case can be forgiven when you consider it rivals most 8 year old pc's lol, just watch the you tube video of this beast playing quake 2 on a fraps demo.
Iphone vs Galaxy S ??? Galaxy S hands down, bar a few more better games on apples expensive, intrusive and overall invading software.
Android all the way please.

Good: large screen and flexibility with widgets and applications.
Bad: Poor battery life and some lag can be expected.
Comment: I have had this phone about a month, after using a iPhone for 2 years, which i still feel has a slight edge when it comes to the user interface and Apples reliable OS stability. It has taken some time to adjust to the Galaxy S, but this phone is very flexible with a variety of add-on widgets and apps, which you can use to set the phone up to just how you want it. The phone is very much like the old iPhone 3gs in shape, it has a plasticy feel to it, but is very rigid and light. Its got a huge screen for browsing the internet but fits in my jeans pockets quite easily. If you use Google apps alot, such Gmail, Google Calendar then this phone is ideal as it will sync your email accounts and Calendars with the Galaxy S. You also get Google maps and a navigation app, which I missed on the iPhone. The only bad thing I have to say about the Galaxy S is the battery life. I am charging about once a day, although I do have several apps syncing content in the background. Overall Iam glad I bought this phone.
(Android 2.2 OS update coming in September 2010 / Samsung Galaxy S)

Good: It looks pretty and sleek.
Bad: Cannot be charged and totally dead on the second we bought.
Comment: We bought it for my husband's birthday. When we tried it, it looked really cool, has lots of functions and easy to use. However, the battery life is very short. On the second day we found it cannot be charged and cannot be turned on anymore. We had used many phones and always feel that Samsung provides good quality mobile phones, but do not understand the reason why this new phone got such fundamental problem. We were very disappointed and felt cannot trust this new product. We had to bring this phone back to the 3 store and change to an iphone.

Good: Swype, divx capability
Comment: Just an update to my last review, I have now discovered swype and have gotten addicted to it. In fact I am writing this review with swype and cannot believe how easy it is to use. Since my last review I have also downloaded some of my divx files and have happily discovered that the phone plays all my divx video without any problems.
To summarize I would recommend this phone to anyone.

Good: sleek slim light and bright
Bad: occasional lag
Comment: my 2nd iphone 4 was returned yesterday although asthetically a beautiful phone ther were to many bugs. also i could have this phone on the same o2 contract for £179 less (that was the deal killer. I have been using this phone for the last few days initially i though i had made a mistake as it took some time to get used to the user in terface, but hey 24hrs later and wow i am seriously impresses. This phone does all i want and more and i am no longer stuck with apples hardware and software monopoly. well done samsung.

Good: 4" screen, light as a feather, thin, fast processor, nice graphics and generally nice to look at
Bad: no flash
Comment: I got the Samsung Galaxy S two days ago, and so far, I love it. I have downloaded about quite a few apps, and am enjoying using this phone. The video resolution is really good. I like how it syncs with my google account and when i go to the gallery, I can access all of my photos from picasa. This was not there in my G1. Unlike most people, I do like Samsung's tweak on Android. I think aesthetically it looks a lot better than the vanilla Android, sure it copies the iphone a bit, but which smartphone nowadays doesn't. It also allows me to use the 3G connection on the phone as a modem for my computer. Most data plans may not cover the use of this phone as a modem, but it is nice to have the option of being able to connect it to a computer and use it as a modem.
I tried the fring application and unlike iphone 4's facetime can use wifi and 3G network. I also like the way all my gmail contacts sync with my facebook contacts.
The battery seems ok, I took it off the charger at 7am this morning and have been using bluetooth, wifi and 3G all day, and generally playing with it all day. Currently it has 54% of charge left and it is 4:04pm.
The only thing negative that I can think of is that it does not have flash, which is an unfortunate oversight. But pictures taken on the 5Megapixel camera are quite good.
