Good: Almost everything, especially capacity to download and open pdf's

Bad: Cannot send most media via messaging and I cannot find out how to calibrate the stylus.

Comment: I've found that some days the stylus is accurate but other days I find it off by up to 2 mm. I've attempted to calibrate but calibration appears to have nothing to do with the touch screen surface. If anyone has any advise on how to overcome the crazy stylus issues I'd really appreciate it.

Good: The screen is fantastic and it takes top notch photos. Does everything. Love the stylus too.

Bad: .

Comment: I've had the Galaxy Note for nearly five months now, and I find myself using it more and more. Makes my iPhone 4s screen seem tiny and faded. People say the Galaxy Note is too large, but I don't find that and it's very light. The stylus allows me to write with more precision than my finger. I wish there were more painting apps for serious artists, but Sketchbook is pretty good. It takes superb photos.

Good: Completely useable with great sound

Bad: ?

Comment: I spent an hour playing with this device in which time it became completely intuitive and readable. So much so that when I picked up the 4s, IT (and not the Note) looked completey ridiculous. I'm not sure that I would want anything smaller than 4.7 now and as for waiting until Autumn for a replacement iPhone... doubt it. I went into the store to buy an iMac to pair off with iPhone 5 when it arrives. I walked out haveing saved €1150 and prety certain to move to a Note once I have checked out the HTC One X and S3 which are both immenent. iPhone was excellent but I'm not blind...the world moves on quickly so look for yourself?

Good: It is highly usable as a phone and a tablet

Bad: Power button opposite the vol button - sometimes press the wrong one.

Comment: I got the Note as an upgrade from a HTC Desire. The Desire, for me, was a slick phone. The Galaxy Note is a slick phone with a super screen and sounds very clear. The Desire, for me, was a good gadget. The Galaxy Note is a good gadget and also a work horse that can be used in my work situation as a tablet. I actually use it all day to record observations on a screen that can be easily read. It comes loaded with Polaris office which I use to create and edit ms office files. The S pen works and is a useful addition. Browsing the net is amazing compared with my last phone. This is a serious piece of technology, more than your average phone or iphone. It isn't something for little boys and girls. As for the reports about looking like some sort of mutant when it is stuck to your face - disregard as nonsense. Similarly, unless you are a Munchkin with Spandex pants, it is going to fit into your trouser pocket. I have read several reviews of this phone, obviously by Spandex wearing Munchkins. If you are a real person, I can highly recommend the Note. My associates want one, my wife wants one. She is never wrong.......

Good: everything except the bad thing below.

Bad: battery life, better than other Samsung Galaxy devices but still ...

Comment: maybe this is a review of the reviewer as much as of the product, let's proceed:

1st "- the sheer size of the Galaxy Note means you'll need to be sporting clown-style pantaloons if you want to comfortably slip it in your trouser pocket."

it fits in confortably on my jeans pockets. So please, you may be funny but you ought be trustful as well...

and .. 2nd: "- It's also not the phone to be seen with if you want to look ultra-cool. Again, the size makes you look daft -- or even Hobbit-like -- when making or taking a call. We were frankly loathe to pull it out in public every time it rang (maybe that says more about us than the Note). It does give you the air of, say, a nomadic start-up entrepreneur when you're perched in the pub busily tapping away with the stylus on that 5.3-inch screen."

this comment tells a lot more about the writer him/herself indeed... "-I'm all worried" freak, as if everyone's business was to notice how odd he/she looks when writing with a stylus on an electronic device.. oh, what a big deal!

maybe it just tell us that most teens won't like it very much, and that's just fine if so.

It doesn't feels as good to talk on the phone, of course, it's not intended to be another mobile, just bigger. anyway, it's not that odd as pictured. Even on the worst "-everybody's looking" paranoia scenario, it's ok, there are remedies: even on a *tablet* you can always use a bluetooth wireless earset.

To summarize it, looks like the reviewer was looking for just-another-mobile, but that was an assumption he/she decided to make him/herself for no good reason. On the other hand, as he decided to go this way, some benefits when compared to a mobile are obvious: in fact, it would be impossible to write with a Stylus Pen on a 3 inch-screen mobile.

At last, i'd sincerely congratulate the reviewer because his examples were good, like his notes which were handsome, for instance. About the photo, i think overexposure happened because the chosen angle was really bad! There're things that cannot be automatically adjusted...

Good: High definition screen, audio quality better than iPod/iphone, S Note, great camera, Call Quality

Bad: sluggish OS, samsung music player

Comment: contrary to cnet's review, battery is actually quite good.

samsung very own music player doesn't read WAV music files. Meaning, if you convert your CDs into WAV lossless file (like I do), you will need third party music player to play and manage them in the player. I am currently using Real Player.

Call quality is also very good - voice is clear.

Good: Looks to be the perfect replacement phone

Bad: Nothing that I can see

Comment: It looks and sounds from the review like a lighter, updated version of my Dell Streak which I love everything about except its getting on now at nearly 2 years old. I've been struggling with what to replace it with. The Samsung Galaxy note is more or less the same size and hopefully if it gets an Ice cream Sandwich upgrade to the Gingerbread I'm already using it will be just the perfect replacement. I really like the note/stylus feature too and the size issue has never been a problem. I think I might love it already!
