Good: Size, camera, lightness
Bad: Tinny sounding speaker
Comment: I have had a Galaxy S2 for the last 6 months and disliked it even with ICS although it was fine. I can't explain why I never got on with it, as I adored my S1. Upgraded to a Note last week and much prefer it. I have big hands and have always struggled with texting. Although the S2 was good, this is even better. I love the big, big screen for reading my messages, it's huge but at least I haven't got to keep scrolling down. Reading a book is very easy with the big fonts but I think I will stick to my Kindle as I can see the Kindle screen in all weathers. This screen is better in sunlight than my S2 but I still have problems in bright sun. Battery is better than my S2 using the same Apps and I get about a day and a half usage instead of a day. I bought it from buymobilephones.net on the special deal of £15.50 per month (mentioned on CNET site) and it's unlocked so I can use my current sim with it instead of the smaller package supplied. Note updated to ICS immediately I got it up and running. I don't like the tinny speakers much but I never use the sound up high anyway so it's no great loss to me. Headphones out of the box much better quality than the ones I got with the S1 and S2. Charge plug is better also as it dismantles in sections and is easier to pack if going away. Camera is better than the one on the S2, taking much clearer daylight pictures. Night pictures also ok. I am very pleased I found this phone on the deal as I was thinking of buying a note outright but couldn't raise all the cash at once.
Good: clear vivid screen
Comment: never thought id leave htc but they have lost ther way re fixed battery micro sim and beats audio but now no beats phones
Good: dont need my netbook any more
Bad: battery but spare ones are cheap, speaker is bad big phone tiny speaker why!
Comment: fits in most pockets easilly great for games ,never thought id leave htc but they have lost ther way re fixed battery micro sim and beats audio but now no beats phones ,so big phone bright screen fast on most
Good: screen size, ligthness
Bad: screen resolution:((
Comment: I bought this for reading on the kindle, for writing and for watching video, playing games etc.
For video it's great. But for having used other phones the screen resolution is no where near as good as I thought when i first saw it. It almost looks out of focus comapred to the apple retina products and a few other phones. So eevn the large size doesn;t help for that. Oh well. Hopefully the Note 2 will have a better screen.
Good: Bright, clear vivid screen. Ease to navigate around
Comment: Love, love, love it!!!
Very easy to use, has everything that I could ever need on the go.
I'm not vain enough to feel stupid actually using it as a phone. If you think people are judging you for having a big phone........get over yourself, they REALLY don't care and neither should you!
Keep your Iphone4s, the Samsung Note really is the dog's doodars!
Bad: back case is a bit flimsy
Comment: this review about the note saying it has poor battery life and being to big is rediculous, if you dont want a big phone dont buy one and the battery life is amazing for a smartphone as i can easily get a day and a half use out of it when having everything turned on so if you like the phone dont be put off by cnet's review and go get one.
Comment: This phone is a beast, it is fabulous. I wanted a tablet, book reader, a planner, a note pad and a sat nav and hey presto I have it all and much much more! The size is not a problem and the battery life is good for what it is and what it can do. If you are Mr/Mrs Average who like to follow the herd then get yourself an iphone but if you want something out of the ordinary, are a leader and not a follower then get yourself this fantastic piece of technology because you will NOT be disappointed. A preview last week for the iphone 5 said it is going to have a 5" screen, I rest my case.....
Bad: reboot problem
Comment: i had an offer to update a software to my samsung galaxy note which i did. After few minutes of waiting to finish the update, i was confused that it is not reaching its OS. I am still on the screen of "reading/updating". Please can somebody help me to teach me what can I do? I did taking out the sim card and the battery yet still the same screen. Thank you so much in advance.
Bad: Construction could have been better
Comment: Its a tab which can be used to make telephone calls. Do not need to carry two devices. excellent battery support as well.
Bad: Stylus- not sure how much I'll use it
Comment: Love my new Galaxy Note. I needed a big screen, and I have no trouble putting this in my pocket no matter what I'm wearing (No comedy clown pants here. While I assume the comment itself was for comedy, it's also misleading). Not a phone for everyone, namely those who care more about how making a phone call looks to others than how well it actually does the task. No one who's worried about how their phone will fit into their skinny jeans will be considering this anyway, so the entire review is somewhat moot.
