Good: Good screen in lower light levels. Battery easy to get out, just drop the phone

Bad: Battery life is dismal. The gps is so slow to boot up and is slow to respond, it makes the feature pointless.Lots of others.

Comment: The phone was a blessing when the LG I had was stolen. The touch screen is far better than the LG and quicker to respond. The Android operating system is more up to date and cleaner to use.
The phone part is OK but other niggles crop up. I've had the phone about 8 months and the battery won't keep a charge for more than a few hours. If I get rid of most of the apps and kill Wi Fi, Bluetooth and GPS it may last half a day on standby.
The ability to choose which apps load at load time is missing. This means that a well loaded phone can take a long time to get to the ready screen. It would be much better to be able to decide at app download time if an app is needed at load time or can remain in the background to be loaded as and when it is needed. There are apps that will clear the app occupancy but that needs loading as well.
I try and run an app that uses GPS to give me speed and distance whilst cycling. In 6 months, it has never been up and running before the ride.
Wi Fi is hit and miss.In the same location and with a top class Wireless router, the signal can suddenly disappear and return a minute or so later.
The man in the shop said I could get over come some of these issues by taking the battery out and putting it back in again. He gave me a URL that will ensure connection would work. It didn't.
Not good. Need to spend more money and use another operating system based machine. Might just be i - er, what it's name.

Good: It has android

Bad: Everything else

Comment: This phone is amazing in the first three months then it starts to lag. 4 and a half months in the signal gets low. 6 months on it randomly switchs itself off and the music, video player stops working. Conclusion... if you are a heavy phone user don't get this it just keeps on failing on you. Oh yeah and the battery life is horrible it only lasts 9 hours on heavy usage e.g. gaming Internet browsing even advanced task killer paid version wouldn't make it better. Just do yourself a favour an buy a better phone like blackberry curve 3G way better

Good: Its simplicity and ease of use for newcomers to smartphones

Bad: not found any to date

Comment: I bought mine from carphone warehouse on the O2 network. The phone accepted my sim with no problems at all, and within minutes I was accessing my previous set up of googlemail.
It took me a little while to get used the on screen keyboard, but with variable options to choose from, I found it very easy to adapt.
The phone memory itself is a little low, but for the price its now on offer at, you really cant beat it. I've upgraded the SDmini card, and have found it to have helped greatly.
For accessing your emails, reporting location to the family, keeping in touch on facebook, as well as uploading your pics to picasa, this phone is superb! Highly recommended

Good: Pros: Great Video support, plays almost anything, drag and drop AVI files, as long as the video is less that 740x480 which most videos are. Nice big screen but not too big. Great 3mpix camera and video. Has a 3.5mm head phone jack, so you don't need to buy an adapter. Takes up to 8gb card.

Bad: Cons: Although Carphone warehouse sell this for for o2 network, o2 do not support this model, so when you put you sim in and go to "get setting" it cannot. I called o2 and they sent me an email with manual input details for the nearest type phone (Europe) and it works, but i do get signal drop from time to time. The internet works fine but i am a little worried about going abroad in case other networks cannot connect and allow "roaming". Compared to my old Nokia, poor call sound quality, very fidgety, No self on alarm (have to leave it on all night, although you can mute the phone and alarm still sounds), poor calender reminder alarm (you will not notice the alarm for reminders / events, and you cannot change the sound for this feature nor the text message alert), cannot change the sensitivity of the touch screen (Texting is annoying unless you have teenage fingers).

Comment: I needed a phone which allowed me to watch videos, after some research i fount the smart / iphones have the video support to play AVI files etc. Normal phones only play 3GP.
The cheapest phone i found that met my needs is the Samsung Apollo, I got it at special offer from Carphone Warehouse for £85 with £10 top up with o2.

You can download 1000's of Android app's to personalize your phone but these can connect to the net anytime they choose for usage stat's etc, these types of phone are best for contract and not pay as you go.
This phone has great smartphone features but has moved away from the basics and is not a good "Phone".
I'm putting up with it due to the video capability but i miss my old phone very much! 5/10

Good: Smartphone, nice size, variety of keyboards for texting

Bad: Battery life, sometimes lags

Comment: I have had this phone for almost a year now and I'm pretty happy with it. I've never been one to buy expensive phones so for me this is a decent enough phone for a reasonable amount of money. I love being able to use all the android apps, although the space on the sd card runs out pretty quickly so you can't dowload all that many. The touchscreen is still looking pretty scratch-free which I'm surprised at given how I treat it.

The most annoying thing about the phone is that the battery only lasts one to one and a half days, even if the internet is turned off. I'm sure it promised a lot longer in the technical spec and it is annoying as I have to remember to charge it every night. Also, the phone vibrates when the battery is full (there is no way of removing this, believe me I have tried!) so I have to keep it on a something soft overnight else it wakes me up!

One thing which I have found pretty amazing is that this phone has survived 10 minutes down the toilet and STILL works (except for wi-fi). Quite outstanding really for phone of this type!!!

Good: Nice design, Easy to use (when it works)

Bad: Freezes, touch screen unresponsive, Crashes, turns itself off, rings random numbers by a slight knock of the touchscreen

Comment: As you can probably see above i was not too impressed with this phone. Got one on contract about 6 month ago 1st phone - battery went dead in a few hours without even touching it so i sent straight back. 2nd - after about a month or 2 of use the touch screen started becoming unresponsive and very slow. Was battery pulling all the time just to get it to work again. sent back 3rd - also had for a couple of month Battery life much shorter than the second phone but i decided to live with it and then after a couple month the phone just completely crashed and i was unable to turn back on again. Im either really unlucky or not a very good phone. sent back and exchanged for the monte. Let hope this one is a bit bit better!

Good: Android 2.1, Good resolution screen, Fast processor and good value

Bad: Freezes on occasion and goes a bit slow sometimes.

Comment: I've owned this phone for 2 weeks, after having 2 phones I really didn't like (HTC Wildfire, Google G1) I decided to buy this phone, costing me £100. Amazing value for what you actually get. It has a 600mhz processor, 3.2inch Capacitive (Heat Sensitive) Touch screen and a good enough internal memory. If you are buying this purely for Android, don't bother. 190mb isn't enough if you want hundreds of games. And the Android system and other apps take up 50mb of that. The touch screen is very sensitive and takes a feather touch to move it, the interface fits 16 apps on one page, which I'm very happy with. Compared to the HTC Wildfire, which is double the price. This thing blows it out of the water with it's faster processor and clear screen. Internet browsing is quick and snappy, the pinch to zoom feature makes it extremely easy on all text based pages. It isn't as fast at Google Nexus S and the other higher ones, but it's certainly satisfactory. Texting is great on this phone, you can obviously download modified keyboards. But this is satisfactory and the keys are suitable to type insanely quickly. The Swype keyboard is great, making texting a lot more interesting, and once you get used to it, you will be able to text people in under 10 seconds. On the standard keyboard it takes about 15 seconds to type 3 lines. So it's practical. The loudspeaker is the sort of thing you'd expect on a Sony Ericsson phone, it's very useful for loudspeaker too. Being at the park we could easily hear each other on loud speaker. But the downsides are.. It can get a bit laggy on occasion, such as high memory apps, Need for Speed Shift etc will make the phone struggle. It's crashed once, and that was my mate's fault for spamming my phone with app opening.

So,
Good Points: High resolution screen, strong stable Android, Good processor, good value for money.
Bad Points: Sometimes slow, and won't run really high requirement games.
