Good: Almost everything but mainl how easy it is to modify.

Bad: Orange 'extras', battery life about the same as most modern smart phones (terrible).

Comment: Bought it, rooted it, slapped on a custom rom which got rid of all orange *enhancements* and 'Rogers your fathers brother'; amazing little back-up android device!

Screen is the same size as an iPhone but the whole phone itself a lot more compact and neat. It does pretty much everything that the big expensive phones do but at about a fifth of the price. Sweet!

Good: Google Android, pay as you go

Bad: Battery Life, Orange apps, Orange email and Orange coverage

Comment: Bought this to get acquainted with Google Android, bought a Android tablet at the same time. Tablet works fine but had problems with phone. Found Cnet review very helpful. Did what they said and changed to the Andriod interface, everything started working properly except email connecting to my exchange server (Hotmail & Google email worked fine). Download TouchDown app for exchange and now emails work just fine. Battery life with Wifi on very poor so use a USB cable to laptop to charge during the day. Orange network coverage remains poor and I do not mind the 100meg Internet usage limit per month but I get very cross when the sales chap says it’s free. Because that’s not a completely free service. How can you trust a company when the first thing they say to you is a lie.

One rather clever but disturbing feature is that when purchasing apps I press the buy button, then I get a disclaimer/information screen, then I get the pay screen which asks if I want to use the credit card I bought the phone with. When I answer yes that completes the transaction and the download starts. Very neat but where is the security, what if I had bought this phone as a gift for someone, also I gave financial info to Orange and they have made this available to google who I am buy the apps from, is this right, I think not !!!!

Good: lots of memory, easy to root and put custom ROMs on, possible 2.2 update

Bad: no flash on camera, wifi prob (simple workaround), needs more buttons

Comment: Great phone for the price

Good: Best Bargain

Bad: Orange, Camera

Comment: The phone is a bargain. For the price nothing can touch it. As for the whining about bloatware... yes it is a pain BUT easily removed so why downer on this phone? Nothing comes close to it for the price. Mobiles are stupidly expensive as it is so I am glad to finally see a great phone but good value too. I'd rather this than having to remortgage my house just to get an I Phone 3GS never mind an I phone 4. The wildfire isn't as good as this.

Good: Android 2.1

Bad: Everything else.

Comment: This is the reason why I fork out for expensive sim-free handsets. Carriers just splurge lashings of badly written bloat-ware onto handsets and expect consumers to be happy with it.

Not for me

Good: screen, android 2.1

Bad: camera

Comment: for the money there is no phone better, this is my first android device, and it is a great introduction to the world of smart phones, the orange branding isnt bad at all really, and you can change it with a bit of tinkering with the ROM. overall im the proud owner of this brilliant little device.

Good: Screen, feels light, price!!

Bad: slow processor but it still handles tasks well

Comment: I bought this phone for my girlfriend and after installing launcher pro and the gmail app all the orange problems were gone :)

its a great phone and feels alot lighter than my iPhone 3GS (which is a good thing) the screen has very vivid colours and the proccesor is more than capable.

this phone handles pretty much anything you can throw at it but it does suffer which playing graphically intensive games which tend to have a low framerate but are still very playable.

I think this is the best bargain smartphone out there and is a perfect choice for people who are looking for a cheap android handset.

:D
