Verdict

We weren't blown away by the silver N82's looks, but the black paint job brings the phone together in a much more attractive way. Combine this makeover with the N82's 5-megapixel camera, GPS, HSDPA and Wi-Fi, and you've got one of the hottest phones to come out of Finland

Good

  • The black casing makes this N82 look much better than its silver sibling
  • 5-megapixel camera with xenon flash
  • GPS

Bad

  • Keypad can be fiddly to press at times

In this review

It may only be a different coloured casing, but it's a huge improvement, given how ugly the silver version looks. One of our main criticisms of Nokia N82 was its dreary appearance, and this is a step in the right direction for an otherwise excellent phone. It's not available just yet, but it will be soon, most likely for free on a monthly contract or for about £400 SIM-free. To find out more read our full review of the Nokia N82 here.

Good: The best thing is the camera

Bad: The internal speakers

Comment: I had this mobile 2 years ago and it's still working as if I just bought it :) although i had a problem with the internal speaker and i had to use the external one (loud-speaker) to be able to make calls but I fixed it for like 10 $ so it's ok now! This phone can support many applications and it doesn't make it any slower and the battery last - even after 2 years of use - for a long time!! And if you are a clumsy person as I am this phone has fallen from my hand, from first store, and it took a heavy bang one time and it's still functioning!! I love it!!!!! :D

I own it

Good: 3G, great 5 megapix cam, rich-apps contacts list, design

Bad: battery life, battery life, keypad

Comment: i have it by from months now, and battery life after 3-4 weeks has so worsened that it has lost the capability to be usefull, even setting in the minimum task regime. no 3g, no w-lan, no radio, no mp3, no maps, no pics, turned-off in the nighttime, and it lasts only 1.5 to 2 days. admire it but make another choice! personally, i'm going back to my lovely reliable se k750i.

Good: Amazing camera, easy to use, 3G, good mp3 quality

Bad: It would be awesome if the screen was a little bigger, but it's still really good though

Comment: I've had the N82 black for about a week now. It's an amazing phone! So many cool features in such a small and nice device, and the most important thing: they all work!
The thing that really got me thrilled, is the camera. Seriously, I knew this phone had a good camera, but I really didn't expect it to be this good! It's just amazing.
The keypad is not fiddly to press at all, it's actually pretty easy to use. It may look really small and annoying, but I didn't have a problem with it whatsoever.
Even though it has so many features(too many to name), it's not slow at all.

I definitely recommend this phone. For the people that want this phone: don't hesitate to buy one!
